Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

I currently have an account that's expiring end of july with 5 lines. If I want to open a new account under new SSN are the following steps to make it happen? (do not have apple store in area and worry that shipping time with ebay sim card will take too long).

1) go to tmobile store get starter kit $25
2) activate it on a pay as you go plan with local refill card fill ups and port one sprint number
3) open new sprint byod with phone number above and new ssn
4) bring over the remaining 4 lines? via sprint chat? (or do i need to repeat step 1 and 2 above on each of the remaining 4 lines?)

Can someone please fill in the gaps and/or let me know what I'm missing?
You cannot do 4 directly. You have to port out to TMobile (or other) and back in. That is the only way to add a line under this offer.

1. u will need a new sim for each and every line.
$25 is rather expensive.
some one has posted that in TM store there are sim that are ~$8 (look for details as i dont know them)
as a reminder..sim from tm, att, are NOT reusable...sim from sprint ARE reusable

another option is h20, they have 1 penny sim on amazon..but u will need to fund each line with $10..and potentially wait 3-5 business days..

4. as posted in a reply above and clearly posted in wiki...:

Each and every number (first , 2nd or last) on a byod line has to be ported in from a non sprint (or sprint mvno) carrier

Has anyone had success with getting a T-mobile branded S8+ to work with this plan? I thought it was going to work based off information I had seen. But now the rep is saying it won't work.

I always say the actual name - Google Voice in this case. Sprint is fine with GV and FP numbers. The port request has to go from Sprint to the actual account provider. GV numbers are actually Banswidth.com and other VOIP numbers. But it doesn't much matter, Sprint researches what it really is anyway. They have to to send it to the right operator.

See https://www.prepaidphonenews.com/...-your.html for port out requirements.

Thank you for this, I just bought a (new to me) unlocked phone that was on T-mobile but now it doesn't have a number attached to it and the Sprint chat CSR says GV numbers no good, must port from another non-Sprint provider. Just to confirm if all I have is a IMEI that's good (passed) and a GV number that I do want ported to Sprint, it is ok to use the GV number if that's the only number I have to use for this promo, right? Thanks again! (was Ringplus oldie and then now with Tello using cheapy pre-paid phones, one year free unlimited sounds good!)

Many reps. know nothing.
It will work fine and is listed as explicitly supported on the offer web page:

Samsung Galaxy S8 (Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile)
******Samsung Galaxy S8+ (Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile)
Samsung Galaxy S8 Special Edition
Samsung Galaxy S8+ Special Edition
Samsung Galaxy S9 Special Edition
Samsung Galaxy S9+ Special Edition

S8 / 8+ switch branding on inserting a sim.

I have switched back and forth between TMobile and Sprint bramdings although mine was originally Sprint but that does not matter.

It is incredible that some reps do not even read their own web page!

But you can tell them it is "Special Edition" if you prefer.

It is better not to ask if a model is supported. They just guess the answers to all questions. In general you should not be asking questions or volunteering info. Just give them the IMEI and ICCID and phone number to port in. If they ask the brand say Samsung S8+ and nothing more.

Mind you it has to be marked as unlocked by TMobile and up to date re updates.

You are correct - just try for a better rep by callng again. A zillion people have used GV numbers.

Or lie if you want - it does not make all that much difference.

wow, just realized a year is already coming up for some early adopters, from June of last year! Even more surprising the offer has been extended all this time.

Good, thanks. But when I click continue for the hard credit check, it asked me to call 844-229-9564. Rep is not helpful.

ETA: I was with Sprint EONS ago and I think my SSN came up so that's why the request to call.

Yes that is correct that they ask prior customers to call unfortunately.

What if I just have my hubby be the one as the account holder since it really doesn't matter if I'm on it or him.

Sure you could.

But it may still go through fine with your SSN if you call and that way you have it out of the way. They will likely ask identity questions and ask some people to go to a store but others sail right through without that after they call.

Thank you, I follow all of that information when I called yesterday, I think it didn't work since I got someone from out of the states.

I've heard you should give all but the last digit of the IMEI. Is that wrong? Should I give them all 15 digits? Thank you so much for responding.

Either should work.

Technically you are right because they use MEID (not IMEI) in their systems but everybody tends to use the one-digit-longer IMEI these days and I find they ask for that usually just because they assume that is what you will find most readily. So I just give them the full IMEI since most people are doing that. Probably they or the system ignores the last digit.

Terms have already changed many times, for example the changing end date. Sprint has changed terms even when an end date is stated like ending the Essential Phone deal earlier due to SD abuse. The situation is actually fairly foreseeable: though the current terms state you can port in additional lines "any time", after 5/17, the whole landing page goes away and you have nothing to point to.
changing the end date was not changing any terms. the old offer expired and they came up with a new offer that was similar with a different end date...

I'm currently in step 3 (phone imei and number show eligible under byod check) but reading the posts I noticed some say to open new sprint byod account with new ssn via phone, not via web. Why? Does it not work via web?
