Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

"It's not you, it's us" is perhaps slightly encouraging. At least, some people who got that ended up approved after calling.
called them again, and asked to talk to a supervisor.
they confirmed my guess, that they could not find anything on my SSN, which is weird since I could find my SSN on my Experian report, and thus did not approve my application. And I asked whether they had run a hard-pull on my credit, they said no...
and I checked my Experian report, no new hard inquiry.

Ok, so it worked, my credit pull was successful but maybe b/c they're already sending me that d&** letter, the sales dept says it's a NO GO, so we ended up using hubby's account to go through with this promo but at least it's going to work. I don't have a SIM ready to go, I'm waiting on one to arrive from online, is the easiest/cheapest nano one to get in a brick and mortar the ones you guys referenced at Best Buy? The (competent, for once) sales guy says he'll call me back. To wait would be a few more days without a SIM. I could wait, I suppose... lol... I'll still make it before the 5/17 deadline to start. The port out for Google was very straightforward and easy. Thank you all so much, just planning to do one phone unless I find a good deal on another unlocked phone soon (unlikely, we're too cheap to bite).

Thanks again and repped. All set with hubby's, now just need a nano SIM.
This Ting table shows the exact Sprint sim part # for a device:

https://help.ting.com/hc/en-us/ar...ghttingsim

Once you have the right sim part # for your specific device go to a Sprint Corporate store and see if they have it. Also, if you tell them that the online rep told you to go to a Sprint store to get a sim card for free they may give you one free of charge.
You can also go to Best Buy, Apple store, etc.
Apple store sims for iPhones are free.
Best Buy, etc., you pay.

The Motorola E4, UNLOCKED and UNACTIVATED, for $130 at Best Buy is the cheapest new phone that qualifies for this free BYOD Sprint plan:

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/moto...Id=5889300

The Verizon version of this phone does NOT work here and neither do the Virgin or Boost versions.

Well something is mixed up.

I would try at a CORPORATE OWNED ONLY Sprint store and see if they can create an EMPTY account for you with no plan in it for you to set up the free plan later at home. Bring lots of ID and bank account and credit agency report printouts etc.

OR email [email protected] (see https://twitter.com/marcicarris?lang=en) who often can help with these problems

OR work with the three credit rating agencies to fix up your credit report which is evidently broken (I think the store might help with this). You can get all 3 reports to start.

Nancy R. : Hi
Nancy R. : How may I assist you today?
You : Hi, I recently signed up for Sprint's free year unlimited plan. A condition of the deal was auto-pay. Can I make a manual payment now/ does that affect the terms of the deal?
Nancy R. : That deal is for the auto pay only
Nancy R. : If you make manual payments the promotion or offer will expire from the account
You : thank you glad I asked. Can I change the payment method to a credit card other than what I signed up with for auto-pay?
Nancy R. : Yes, you can
You : OK won't affect the terms?
Nancy R. : No, it won't affect the terms..Just the account should be on auto pay from any card.
You : Thanks very much this is all I need to know.
Nancy R. : You're welcome.
Nancy R. : Thank you.
Nancy R. : Thank you for choosing Sprint - we appreciate your business!
Nancy R. : Bye

You : Bye

Nancy R. : Thanks.
Ridiculous. Everywhere else on the planet, if you make a manual payment ahead of your automatic, the manual payment will be either 1) in lieu of or 2) in addition to the automatic. Nobody anywhere cancels the autopay for making one manual payment. I say this CSR is FoS. I'll wager you can call again and get a different answer. I'll wager you can call three times and get three different answers.

I agree I think it is nonsense. In fact I have paid manually at times with no problem. I think the (misguided) rep, is just trying to give one simple way that will definitely work, that's all.

But the original poster can just do it the suggested way if they want.

thanks bro.
I am pretty sure nothing is wrong with my credit report since I got several hard inquiries in Feb when I leased my car, the problem is their system, so, just too much trouble, I am done with them...

How do you know it is not with the particular credit agency they are using? There are 3 of them.

Exactly. I would believe autopay is for the $5 discount. Although no reason for not using autopay and risk losing plan.

Yep, I've totally done that with credit cards. You may have a point, contacting again might yield a different answer. For me, I'll let it sit til auto-pay.

Perhaps they could use that condition, if they technically wanted to.

I believe the rep was just being unclear; when she said "If you make manual payments the promotion or offer will expire from the account", she meant if you TURN OFF AUTO-PAY and make manual payments INSTEAD, the promo will expire. She did not mean that making any manual payment will end the promo.

Source: I have been making manual payments every month since February, while leaving auto-pay turned on, and have had no changes to my plan. In fact, I'm actually paying more than the monthly cost, and the credit just rolls forward and gets used up at my next monthly bill.

yeah, you are right, all the inquiries I got are on Transunion, not Experian, which Sprint pulled.
I only noticed that the last 4-digit number on my Experian report is correct since I couldn't see the whole number, I'd better call Experian to double check my whole number. thanks!

You can file disputes with all 3 credit bureaus and get free credit reports and free access online:

https://www.ai.equifax.com/Credit...ome.action

https://www.experian.com/disputes/main.html

https://www.transunion.com/credit...our-credit

Also, you have the choice with some to see the entire SS # or the last 4 digits. Go for the whole thing!
