Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Try inserting the T-Mo Sim into the phone, turn it on, and TRY to call 611.
It should work.
If NOT try: Call from another phone: 1-877-746-0909

You must speak to a CS person, not use the automated system.
Thx so much. I called the number you provided and bypassed the auto system and talked to a human. I didn't insert the sim into the phone. I just got the TMO number/pin now. They asked my name and birthday - what was that for? Also they said it'd take 2 hours for the TMO activation process. How would I be able to check when it is actually activated?

SiennaCaribou7271I'm new to Slickdeals, I love this deal! I'm curious to know what other deals did you find, were this good, in the past?
I had gone through the same steps you mentioned.
SIM from apple - > TMO online asked activation code -> called TMO -> they activated gave me new number -> inserted into spare GSM phone ( you can insert into any unlocked phone ) -> added $10 just to make sure the porting happens fine -> made few calls -> ported to sprint successfully.

Insert the T-Mo Sim into the phone, turn it on, and make a test call to another phone #, the call will not go thru since there is no $$ in the account but you'll hear the recording to add $$ or something similar.
Also, you'll get a bunch of texts to your new prepaid phone # that the phone is active and your new phone #.

There were deals like port your number and get $300 and also trade in deals when we trade in 5s.
ATT prepaid SE - which could be unlocked. Recently iPhone SE ( these are CDMA and GSM phones ) from MetroPCS.
Slickdeals is best when you explore and set alerts and read the comments. Deals are best when they are stackable. You can find that extra information in these threads.

That's the safe way to do it, but with T-Mo it's NOT necessary to fund the account in order to port out.
With AT&T it is, BUT you can request that only $1 be added since "you plan to do a port into AT&T" in the future and you don't want to add funds before the port goes thru.
Then, with only $1 in the account you can port out to your preferred provider!

I just tried to insert the activated TMO sim into my iPhone 5s as you said, but I got the below message:

SIM Not Supported
The SIM card that you currently have installed in this iPHone is from a carrier that is not supported under the activation policy that is currently assigned by the activation server...

Why? BTW, I didn't power the iPhone off when I inserted the SIM... was that the problem?

With Sprint each Sim card is SPECIFIC to a phone model, so a sim for the iPhone 8 will not work in another model iPhone.
This is true for all phones Android or Apple iPhones.

Insert the Apple Sim that you got from the Apple store to that SPECIFIC phone you got it for.
It should work then.

ALWAYS, power down a phone before you remove or insert a Sim card, BUT that's not the reason here of not working.

Thx so much... I inserted the TMO sim that I got from the Apple store, and it's also the sim that I just activated by calling TMO. I'm confused and worried...

Here is the complete message that I got:

SIM Not Supported
The SIM card that you currently have installed in this iPHone is from a carrier that is not supported under the activation policy that is currently assigned by the activation server. This is not a hardware issue with the iPhone. Please insert another SIM card from a supported carrier or request that this iPhone be unlocked by your carrier. Please contact Apple for more information.

BTW, this is a Virgin Mobile iPhone 5s, used only on Ring+ then Ting, nothing else. It passes the Sprint BYOD checker and TMO bring your own device checker.

That's for the TMO sim, right?

I do not think you even need to activate with TMO.

You're just porting the number out of TMO.

Let's hope for better luck with Sprint. The original Sprunt sim used with this phone before will be fine.

Was the Sim card you got at the Apple store, which is also the Sim card you just activated, SPECIFIC to the iPhone 5s? OR was it for another phone?

Check here for the SPECIFIC Sprint Sim card part # to the correct phone:

https://help.ting.com/hc/en-us/ar...ghttingsim

For the iPhone 5s the correct Sprint Sim part # is: SIMOLW506C
For the iPhone 8 the correct Sprint Sim part # is: SIMOLW416Q

Again, make sure you're using the correct Sim card for the correct iPhone.

IF the parts are correct then there is a problem, perhaps a defective Sim card, or the Apple store rep gave you the wrong card?

Also, Comintel above is RIGHT:
Right now you have a T-Mo # to port to Sprint, and the account # and the PIN. That's all you need.
"You should NOT need to activate a device with T-Mo. since you're just porting the number out of T-Mo."

Porting out to Sprint should work!

Thx so much Hunter for your help... I really appreciate it... The SIM card I'm using is TMO SIM card, not Sprint. The Apple store told me there is only 1 kind of TMO SIM card for all iPhones. What am I missing...?

You do not need to use the TMO sim at all or need to activate the phone on TMO at all.

Yes, it's TMO sim. Are you saying that I don't need to worry about the error SIM message on my iPhone (saying that the TMO sim in my phone is no good)...? What would be my next step? Just call Sprint BYOD?

Correct.

And of course give them the Sprint sim ICCID and put it in the phone. If they ask if the sim is new say yes regardless of whether it is or not.

Do not volunteer any info or ask any questions.

You're not missing anything, Comintel above is RIGHT!
Your port should work.
I assume you have the correct Sprint Sim card for the eligible phone device you'll be bringing to Sprint.
