Yep, registered the Google number. Pity the old one is gone, but I can leave with it.

Not through yet but looks like going this way. Thanks to all who helped
Another issue. I already have prepaid account with Sprint with all family members on it and looks like I can't have both pre- and post-paid accounts Frown Frown Trying giving them my business account with EIN number...

Does anyone know if I can add lines to get one year free after 5/17? Already enrolled for one line.
The T&C say you can until 5/31/2019, but some Sprint reps say you can't after 5/31/2018, or is it after 5/17/18?.

Damn, was hoping to port fam plan to tmo and port back in. Really hoping this gets extended once more time.
If you have the time to do it, you still have time to get in on it (as long as you use different SSN for porting back to Sprint). Just gotta get ahold of a TMO prepaid SIM (real or virtual from ebay). Took probably 30 mins for me to do (had to first go to mysprint and get my account number and PIN code).

I've still got 2 months of my free yr from last year, but going ahead and flipping it out to TMO and back early in case they don't extend.

Side note: Be sure to choose the Pay As You Go option from voice menu for TMO.

Might you have a guess what could be the cause of the issue for the user "onewhowas"...? I'm very sorry to hear that and hope it will be resolved soon and that we all can try to avoid such issues in the future.

So, I ported in from Tmobile for a new Sprint BYOD account this morning using spouse's SSN. The voice/text seems to be working, though there is still only 3G and no LTE. (It does not have "Profile" on the menu, thus I'm currently stuck there...)

I have another Sprint BYOD account under my SSN that will expire this coming July - only 1 line on iPhone 6s. It is a phone number that I need to keep. Thus I'm wondering when/whether I should port it out now to TMO and then port back in to Spouse's acct? But, from what "onewhowas" is experiencing right now, it seems to be very risky to do that. Any advice? Thanks so much again for all your help...
Do it now, today if possible.
That's a very strange and isolated case.
Ports from T-Mo prepaid to Sprint are done in minutes.

Use the SS # of one of your family members to open the BYOD account under his/her name, if possible if the EIN does not work.
To get on this free plan you can NOT have been a Sprint customer for at least 45 days.

Thx... so I'd need a new TMO sim card to port from Sprint to TMO pre-paid, right? I should not use the old one that I used yesterday, did I get that right?

And, after I port out from Sprint to TMO, is there anything I need to do in order to make sure that the Sprint BYOD account is 'canceled'? And how long after that should I wait until I can port back in from TMO to Sprint (under spouse's account)? Thx so much for your help... I just wanna be very sure that I won't run into issues... thx again.

I lost access to the only phone on my plan and now sprint wants to send me a OTP to that lost phone when I called in to add another line. Any way to get around this stupid requirement ? Its the same story if I want to swap a device as well. They insist on sending a a code to a lost device.
Since I dint have any other alternative , I went to a sprint store to swap the device and now my plan has been changed to a paid plan. Arg... is it possible to go back to the free plan at all ? Mad

1. Do not use the old sim, get a NEW one.
2. After you port out the account is closed after 45 days.
3. You can port back from T-Mo to Sprint immediately as long as you have the correct T-Mo prepaid account # which is the phone # with an 1 in front, 1-555-555-1234, AND the PIN # that you create. Most here do it within an hour.

See what Account Services can do for you. Ask for Cancellations to reach them. But never go to a dealer if you want to keep the free plan.

I think mine is an isolated incident.
Looks like Level 3 Support got the port to go thru.
Crisis averted ! Applause

A couple of hours later, I got this:
Quote :
We are happy to inform you that your number transfer has been completed and number 469-XXX-**** is now active on your account. To ensure your phone works correctly, please turn the phone off and then turn it on again, then you should be ready to make and receive calls. If you cannot make and receive calls, please call us at (866) 501-9567 so that we may assist you.

For iPhone devices:
1. Tap Phone.
2. Tap Keypad if necessary.
3. Enter ##873283# then tap Call.
4. When Starting Service Update screen appears, tap OK.
5. When Service Update Complete appears, tap OK.
6. The Radio will reset. When Sprint displays, the iPhone update has completed

Thank you for choosing Sprint. We appreciate your business.

Sprint Number Porting Center
As for the LTE issue, I had the same thing.
To fix it, I had to completely wipe the Network Settings:
For iPhone: General-->Reset-->Reset Network Settings
Then (after reboot) also do the ##873283# in the phone dialer.
Even then, it still showed 3G.
So I pulled up the SpeedTest app and ran that, and something happened, as right after the test started it got aborted and then "LTE" showed up at the top of the screen.
Then speedtest worked on the second attempt.
Maybe it just took time.... or it needed a large data pull.. or something.
Not sure. But it is all working now!

Thanks for all the help!

You got tricked by the store reps. You're not the only one!
Now you must call the BYOD toll free # and complain and try to revert to the free BYOD plan.
If not helpful there, escalate this issue to the Sprint Executive team. Search this thread for Marci.

I want to unlock my google voice number. Anyone know how long it takes to be available for porting? Also can I use an unused SIM card I got from apple to activate my google voice number?

Yes!
But to make sure, AFTER your port out is complete and your NEW account is working properly, CALL Sprint customer service and request that the old account be closed. Give it a couple of days before you call.
