There is some evidence of 5/17 as a special date, but I wouldn't expect Sprint to be straightforward even if there is a date set internally.
some evidence does not equal concrete evidence

its all hearsay...

i heard
a rep told me
my friend ganesh said..

etc etc etc

thank you for the insight... When you said "billing cycle", did you mean the "bill period" that is printed on the bill, or does it depend on when the auto-pay payment appears?

For example, the latest bill statement that i can see says "bill period: Mar 23 - april 22, 2018". But my latest auto-pay payment is may 16 (yesterday). It seems the auto-pay always occurs around the 15th of every month (3/18, 4/15, 5/16).

Not sure what period the payment on 5/16 covered... (perhaps 3/23 - 4/22...?)

In your case, on May 16 Sprint generates a bill covering overages during 3/23-4/22 and the prepaid monthly fee for 4/23-5/22. If you cancel after 4/22 you'd have paid for 4/23-5/22 and it won't be refunded.

I opened a new line earlier this year to get in on BYOD with 2 lines. If I add a 3rd line (same account) will the expiration date for the 3rd line match the first two, or will it be later to match what new accounts are getting?

Thx... so, I paid yesterday (5/16), and for example, if I port out today (5/17) or by 5/22, will I need to pay again on approx 6/15 or not...? Thx again...

It goes by the original end-of-savings date.

That is the whole point of dozens if not hundreds of current posts about people starting new plans to get a whole new year. Please read some recent posts about how to do that (needs new SSN, port out, port in - read couple of days of posts to get details).

If you cancel today (5/17), you'll get a final bill on 6/15 (the "4/23-5/17" bill), which should not have a monthly fee for 5/23-6/22. You've already paid up to 5/22 on the bill you just paid (which is the "3/23-4/22" bill).

Two separate reps in Sprint phone support told me that my SIMGLW416Q SIM card from the Apple store was showing as not compatible with my iPhone 6.

I wonder if the Boost Mobile kit would have worked instead.

I have 2 numbers on "reserve" from freedompop. They won't be ready until the 17th and the 22nd... idk why the 2nd # is that much longer. It doesn't matter though because Sprint has already added both numbers to my account under the byod promo Big Grin ... even if I can't use them yet
update: One line has come through so we're just waiting on the 3rd one. One thing I wanted to make sure to do right away was to remove the insurance which they add on even if you say NO. To my surprise, it wasn't added Blink! The 2nd thing I did was change the phone number. Freedompop gave me numbers with far away area codes.

That shows as the pixel/moto e4 sim everywhere i look. i ended up buying a sim on amazon to be sure i'd get one that worked, and it had to be the SIMGLW436C

416Q works on iphone 8's and X.doesn't work on 5s-7. If you told them iphone 6 they should have given you 436C.
