Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

I told was to go to a sprint store to get a Sprint sim with the G6 has anyone else had to do that ?
For the unlocked G6 that would make sense. If you're talking about the Boost G6 play, I'd go to Walmart and exchange it.

There is no need to exchange it. Just try again.

Sales reps are notorious for telling people to buy sims unnecessarily. You just get that randomly from a stupid rep. It has nothing to fo with the phone.

Oh really! That is earlier than I expected. In that case, yes, the poster would need to buy a sim. Maybe that's what the rep. was thinking of. Oh wait, sales reps cannot think in general, only sell.

Surprised to hear that, I didn't think it was available yet. You're talking about the unlocked model...right?

For folks purchasing the Boost G6 Play version, the Sprint sim card is in the phone. When you provide the Sprint rep with the IMEI they should be able to see the ICCID in their database.

I got a nice enough Sprint csr, everything going well. But stuck.

Csr asked me to make test calls from the phone to test. I get error "your account could not be validated". I've power cycled the iphone 5s several times now at the csr's request, same thing. On my own, I reset the network settings. No difference.

Csr checks a few things, and finds that the port out from Tmobile is stuck. It is waiting for Tmobile to approve the port. It's been 40 minutes now, the csr will call be back. Ugh

Call Porting department directly at 866-437-1818 to expedite the port. You do not have to go through TeleSales to complete the port.

Thanks. Checked my local Wal-Mart and they have two in stock. I have no interest in purchasing one, but interesting to know they are available locally.

I wonder if it is possible that, in preparation for VoLTE and other network reconfiguration, they are dropping support for adding phones lacking band 41?

In my opinion most people would be better off avoiding using such phones on Sprint anyway, because they will often perform poorly, unless used for voice only. They do not work with Magic Boxes, for example, and possibly other network elements that are planned. I have seen people return Magic Boxes because "they did not work" when the real problem was the person had an obsolete phone lacking band 41.
I don't think that is the case here.
Reading the person's previous issue seems likethe phones are somehow partially active but not sure how if online signup/sim order didn't go through initially.
They used 3 phones to sign up online but credit check sent them to store. Instead of going to store they tried to sign up again with son's social. During this sign up only 1 or 2 were eligible. So she ended up going to store to get credit ID and empty account done. But now 2 of 3 phones ineligible.

Oh I see - good analysis. I forgot that "already (partly) active" can be another reason for ineligibility.

I don't know how that can happen though. Hopefully checker message will give some insight.

I got the boost moto g6 play activated on the sprint line but I'm getting horrible data rates. I've tried upgrading the prl and profile but it still is very bad. Basically download seems okay but it is having trouble connecting to upload data. My land-line is temporarily down or I'd troubleshoot with sprint. I switched back to my old phone which gets good data speeds. Calls and texts work fine. Very odd. I assume everyone else with the boost g6 play are getting decent data speeds as no one else has reported problems.

One other person posted that they got very poor data speeds (if any).
