Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

It states pretty clearly that international roaming is included in the free plan. Just want to confirm that others have successfully used it without any unexpected charges?

Are international services included?
Yes, our 1 Year Free Unlimited plan includes Sprint Global Roaming, which includes data up to 2G speeds and text messaging in any of our 185+ Global Roaming countries at no charge, plus calling for just $0.20 a minute

Just finished porting in a 3rd line (from tmo) on to my wifes SSN. I just want confirm that the account number for ported in lines from Tmobile will have a 1 in front of the phone number. As you stated, new lines will not have the 1 prefix.
Hopefully this clarifies the confusion regarding account numbers.

BTW, I used the same tmo virtual sim that i used on a previous port.
Quote from lordrylen :
You don't need to log into your TMo account. All you care about is Sprint not seeing your IMEI tied to a Sprint account. Just check your IMEI on the Sprint site and if it says "Eligible" you can call Sprint to set up new service.

I'll try to explain the process again:
1. Call Tmo, tell them you have a sim card, a device, and that you want to set up new service as a prepaid line. Tell them you have/will get a prepaid card once the line is activated.
2. Give them all the info they ask for. Remember the pin you give them. They'll say something along the lines of: "You will receive a text message when you line is activated." We don't care about this. Just say thanks and end the call.
3. Go to the Sprint site and check your IMEI number HERE [sprint.com].
4. When it says eligible, call Sprint using the number in the Wiki.

Info you should keep track of:
1. Old account number and account pin. You need that to port the line into TMo.
2. The TMo pin number and "account" number. The TMo account number is the phone number you ported into TMo with a 1 before the area code. 1(###)###-####.

As I said, the activation text of the TMo line is irrelevant. All you need to do is keep checking the Sprint IMEI checker. I never removed the Sprint sims from the phones as they can be reused. Two of the lines I have are 40 miles away - I never touched those devices. I bought 5 TMo sim numbers but some people have said that some TMo sim numbers can be reused.
I have 4 lines currently on Sprint. Will port over to Tmo to renew. So as long as the phones show eligible on this site, I should be good, correct?

https://prepaid.t-mobile.com/prep...own-device

I ask as one of the phones is iP4s so kinda old but looks like Tmo site says its eligible.

Also, when setting up the new sprint acct, it will be under my wife SSN. She was a former sprint customer during the first byod so been way longer than the 45days. we should be clear to setup under her, correct?

Usually they move it forward another 1, 2 or 3 months at a time for new subscribers from that point forward. So some people get up to 13 months depending on how the timing works out.

But existing subscribers do not get their dates extended. Only new ones from that point on get the new date.

That is what has happened every couple of months so far.

One day, of course, they will close the plan to plan to new signups so there will be no new end-of-savings dates after that either.
Interesting, thanks

I see the comment in the wiki that you cannot call and use data at the same time on Sprint. Is that true?? Isn't that a showstopper then?
Quote from comintel :
It' does not bother most people.
Of course it does not apply if you have any of wifi, wifi calling, or lte calling viable where you are using your phone. The last is beta on some recent high-end phones and we will have VoLTE on many new phones later this year.
or carry two phones.

Ok, I've read a bunch, and I think this all makes sense, can someone please just check my math and make sure I'm not about to do something stupid?

I'm a current Sprint postpaid customer, 2 lines, both nice phones I want to keep using..
I want these 2 numbers to end up in Google Voice.
For now I'm leaving those liens active so I can keep using my phones, no gaps availability.

I have 2 old phones that were on Sprint, paid off, unlocked.
However, they show in Sprint as not being eligible for free year, since they were last used on Sprint.
I'm going to get a digital Tmo SIM number from ebay.
I'm going to call Tmo to activate those 2 phones on Tmo pay as you go plan, and get account number.
Once that's set up, those phones should become eligible for Sprint BYOD free year.
I'm going to activate them on the BYOD free year under my wife's name, SSN, port out from Tmo.

Once they're running, I'm going to port my current numbers to Google Voice.
That will close my current account, I'm not under contract any more.
Then I will just device swap my current phones onto the free lines.

Am I missing anything? One thing I'm afraid of is the "old" phones maybe being too old, an S7 edge (should be fine) and a Note 4 (my bigger concern).

ported out the iP4s but forgot last time that was not an eligible phone for BYOD!

Anyway, I will port other lines and do a phone swap on the new Sprint acct for one of the lines to the iP4s and then port over the last line with the phone that gets freed up.

Not sure why you would go that route. The only gap in service would be the phone time to tmo and the phone time setting up new account. An hour, maybe two tops. The tmo port outs are instant. After the sprint rep gets all the info, the port ins are quick as well. You just need a working phone to call sprint if you do both port outs to tmo at the same time using digital sims. You end up with the same phone numbers and use the same sims that are in the phones. Are your current phones on the eligible list? AND there's no guarantee those old phones will be allowed, though you could call and have them check the imei's to be sure.

Because I want to move my current numbers to Google voice, and doing so will close whatever account they're on at that time. Current phones are on the eligible list, that's not a problem, but it's true the old ones aren't. But either way, I have to do a new activation on Tmo, because I want to port to Google Voice. And their port isn't instant, as I understand it?

I see, but you also know that porting out to tmo will close that account as well.

So as i understand, then your current numbers will become your main GV numbers and any new numbers assigned from any carrier can be forwarded to your GV number. Or rather i should say that any calls to your GV number can be forwarded to your newly assigned number.
