Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Can anyone answer some of my questions about porting from Google Voice?

I was told by Sprint that their system wouldn't accept my number for porting.

They asked what provider I was porting from. I said Verizon. Does that matter? I didn't know what else to say since for some reason no one, or the wiki, has mentioned that.

They wanted a personal PIN at least 6 digits. Is this the same one I created on GV? I only made that one 4 digits.
Just say Google Voice. Otherwise the reps know you are lying for some reason or mistaken. They are fine with GV. Despite the marketing target of Verizon, they have accepted GV, FP, whatever from the start (except Sprint numbers).

Just try again and give the correct info. You can say you made a mistake if it comes up. After all, you could have your GV number forwarded to Verizon.

I created a new account with one line and got it all set up. The end date was showing up as 5/31/2019 ( not 7/31/2019). A new bill showed for just the charges and taxes for $4.40. Now, after a week, when I took a look at the account, it shows Unlimited Kickstart suddenly. Have informed the issue over chat. The chat person said the account will be updated within next 24 hrs.. Not sure, whether they just told that to get rid of me. Anyhow, will check back again tomorrow to see whether the account gets set back to the Unlimited Free plan.

I called again. They said my # wasn't usable, portable, or something. They said they were going to ask another dept about it but forwarded me to it instead. That person said Sprint isn't available in the area of that #. LOL. Wouldn't they go by the area of my address?

I called yet again and was told the same thing - the # isn't available for porting. They gave me a support # to check on the GV's port status, but they aren't open. GV shows my # unlocked and available for porting.

Oh if the port in already underway (sorry I did not understand that from your post) do not call TeleSales at all.

Some TeleSales reps care only about sales and make up excuses to get rid of you if any problem comes up. The excuses are random and mean nothing.
First set up your account if you have the info already and sign on and go to https://shop2.sprint.com/en/wlnp/check.shtml

Also call Porting Dept directly at 866-437-1818

Do not do it now though- it is too late to reach the best staff.

It is better to do it tomorrow.

Unfortunately from what you say it is possible that the number is issued by an obscure local carrier used by Google in your area that Sprint cannot route to. (Some routing goes via the location of the *original* carrier that originally issued the number, even after the number is ported elsewhere). If this does end up to be the case, they will probably offer you another number since you did try.

Was in the process of the spring->tmob->sprint switch and now stuck in limbo. Apparently the system Sprint uses to activate the BYOD on this promotion is down. Now my #s are with virtual tmobile sim and no cell service. They are suppose to call me when system is up but no estimated date/time. Don't start the out of sprint transfer until you confirm the BYOD system is back up

Does Moto G6 play work with this offer? Has anyone tried it?

Thanks

Yes it works. Use the HEX ID (2nd number). The SIM # is also something they will ask for. Just don't say Boost version obviously.

Sprint will also unlock after 50 days of service.

It should be ok. Sprint will see at as a TMobile number with the request to be sent to Ting.

The number associated with ting is a prepaid although bill is like postpaid billing - is that acceptable for this sprint 1 yr plan ?

Sprint has no access to the Ting account info or any other carrier's account info and does not care about it.

You just have to port in any non-Sprint number.

The phone is another matter. It cannot be a Sprint prepaid phone. What phone model is it?

The phone can be from anywhere or nowhere. It does not need to be the same phone that was used with the number you are porting in.

Its a moto phone either unlocked E4 or E4 plus - which I am planning to buy tomorrow .

What abt the sprint sim ? Do i need buy separately ?

Any recommendation for a cheap phone which i can buy and port the existing ting number ?

Yes you will have to get a Sprint sim suitable for the particular model. Read this thread on a using a Boost Moto G6 Play instead which will give you wifi calling - but you need to read up because it is not eligible in theory. (The Boost Moto G6 Play comes with a sim already by the way).

By the way we have not yet seen any definite statement that the offer will remain open to new signups past month end. That may be the default guess but is not yet clear.
