Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

When I got this deal I used a free and clear Sprint LG G5($80 on Ebay) and a Freedompop LTE account.

I did it by phone as recommended, the call took about 20 minutes on a weekday morning. The credit check was asking me questions about addresses and things of that nature associated with my credit history..The port-in took a couple of hours.

No problems, Since then I waited 50 days and got the LG G5 unlocked. Then swapped in a Sprint LG V20, waited another 50 days and got it unlocked. Now I swapped in a Sprint LG G4 and I'm waiting 50 days to get it unlocked.

So any prepaid phone is ineligible on Sprint's network, period (not just byod)?
Any Sprint-subsidiary-Branded prepaid phones (not all prepaid phones) are ineligible because they are sold subsidized.
If the phone served a full year on the intended carrier, then they may release it for postpaid, and there are a few other occasional exceptions but people can forget getting on all the normal prepaid Volts and HD Tributes etc. that they had on RingPlus, FP, Tello etc.

I thought Freedompop numbers are virtual numbers that can't be ported out.
People generalize too much on one or two posts.
One single person had that problem where FP used an obscure carrier in his area.
Piles of people have ported in FP numbers. They are VOIP numbers which is not a problem.
The problem was the obscure carrier FP used in his area only.
In most of the country FP uses Bandwidth.com and their numbers port ok.

After porting my numbers from Verizon, my S8 (bought from Verizon) is giving me this error:

Sprint Wizzard
Sim card is not readable
Contact your service provider.

Second Message
Sprint QMADM
Please contact Sprint to unlock your device

then third message
Phone
Invalid SIM Card

I still can make and receive calls but intermittently. What do I do now?
Do you have the correct 416Q sim in it?

I was on previous BYOD free 1 year plan already, which was expiring next month.
I took the chance and cancelled that plan, Ported my number to T-mobil pre-paid as mention in this thread.
And called Sprint to get on this new BYOD free 1 year plan. When I called, my old account poped-up on their screen and the operator told me that they need to take care of that account first to get on new plan. (Basically what he did is removed my SSN from old account, and then applied for new plan.)
It did go through and I am now on new plan - Free for another year.
All done in less than 2 hours. got lucky.
Removing your SSN from the old account is exactly has has to be done. That takes place automatically after 45 days.
Do do it earlier than 45 days, the rep has to have it removed manually. Most reps will not do that. Occasionally a rep will do so. Did they do it for you earlier than 45 days?

Ok so since this offer can end any second, I've decided to port my Mint Sim number over

I already have a brand new (old) Sprint Sim card that is said to be the correct one

So, do I just call 866-782-8777 with all my info and numbers, or is there a way to do it online with an existing Sim?

I only ask because calling up doesn't seem to be fool proof vs ordering and activating online
You cannot do it online with an existing sim.

Yes, As I mentioned I had canceled previous plan 2 hours ago before calling them for new plan. And I didn't ask him to remove SSN, he did this on his own and told me so.

If I port my Google Voice number can I still manage it from google ? Meaning can i still have it call different phones ?

Can you also port it back to Google if you leave Sprint ?
No to managing it from Google. If you really want to do that, port some other number to Sprint and point your Google number to that number.

Can you port it back to GV later? Sure by paying GV's $20 port-in fee.

WOW that is great!

I thought that is what you meant but wanted to be sure.
I realize you do not know the internals of removing SSN's - I was explaining them for anyone's/others' benefit because they are not at all obvious.

Many people have been refused because 45 days was not up but I think people actually have a good chance of doing this if they keep trying. Just a couple of people have got the treatment you got so far.

No. FP pins are complicated because sometimes they are wrong on their web sites. I do not have recent details on that and will leave it to others to clarify FP pins etc.

Call, as the wiki says and almost all here say.
Have your sims already in hand by obtaining them locally.

And when calling, watch for the "device protection" $13/month thing. I called twice, 1st rep set me up easy peasy without the DP thing. 2nd rep put it on there, and would not take it off. He said I can take it off myself by logging in. 2nd rep said it is prorated by the day, so the difference is a few pennies.

Funny how people can minimize a few pennies, dollars, hundreds, thousands when it is the other guy's money. My guess is that telesales is comped on how many DP plans they sell, regardless of whether or not the customer cancels it. I actually had a travel agent tell me "it's only fifty dollars"
