Quick update for those who are familiar with my situation. Wife called yesterday and they wouldn't let her get the 1 year because of the 45 day rule. I think at this point I am going to port my numbers off the Tmo virtual SIMs into Cricket 5 lines for $125 and wait out the 45 days and hope the offer is still around. Thanks for all your help!
You need a new SSN to take advantage of another year of free BYOD if you don't want to wait the 45 days

Because everyone wants their old number back and I thought you can't Port into Metro from Tmo Prepay. I can't even port the old numbers into Google Voice because Google requires you to enter a verification code sent to the phone attached to the old number, which is not possible with the virtual sim.
If you wanted your old number you should have ported from Sprint to TMobile virtual sim. Google voice is not needed and shouldn't be in the picture unless you just need a new phone to port into Sprint and not have any other number to begin with

Boost Mobile g6 is not unlocked. It however will activate on Sprint until they fix their systems to block all future boost phone activations
Thanks for the info. Do I just enter the phone info on Sprint website or call them?

If you read the wiki you'll notice that it is always better to call. If call doesn't work then do a chat to do a esn swap- im assuming you already have active service with sprint

Hi All,
I have a question. I want to close one line out of three that I currently have on 1 year free plan. The number I want to close is the main number I used to open the free plan to begin with. What is best way to do this? shall I call the number mentioned in wiki or sprint customer service? will it create any issue in keeping the free plan? Does anybody have similar experience?
Thanks in advance for your help

You should be able to just port it out.

I have not done exactly that but some people have posted that they did so and that the second number just floated up to replace it. Some have opined that it may be risky but I think they have been disproved.

You could also swap numbers between two lines - I have done that with support - and then port out later

Do not call TeleSales or they will tell you that you cannot do it (which is what they say to any difficult question of this nature to get rid of you). They are not in charge of cancellations or port-outs, just of adding new lines.

If you really want to talk to someone you can talk to Account Services (which is not the same as Support) but you risk that they may tell you no too and annotate your account to that effect. So I would just port out the number. You can always later claim it was a mistake (but I do not think you will need to).

Porting out the first (or any) number would be a common occurrence across all plans and I am sure the Sprint system should handle it well without interfering with the plan. I would just treat it as a normal account maintenance issue. If you try to treat it as a plan issue I think that only causes problems.

Activated my service yesterday. The LTE data is working perfectly, but voice and message don't work. Reseted network settings, updated profile by dialing ##873283#, but problem still exists. Anyone has any suggestions? Thanks a lot.
That is weird as usually Voice and text work but not LTE or no service at all.
Tracphone used to load apn profiles so maybe some settings got corrupted. You can try ##clear# to reset subscriber settings and also check for old profiles. If these don't work Phone may need backup and restore but if backup has the bad settings you may need to restore as new phone(last resort). I guess it may be possible the meid was entered wrong by sprint but think that would result in no service. Unless network is just recognizing sim card(iccid) and able to use data but I thought Sprint blocked that, maybe not.

1-Reset Subscriber Settings (Carrier Reset)
Go to dial pad as though you're about to dial a phone number
Enter # # 25327 #
Tap Call
A "Reset Subscriber Settings" message will appear - tap OK
Wait 5-10 seconds; the signal notification will display "Searching" on the top left of the screen
When the phone shows a signal again, the phone is ready to use

2-Service Update (Profile & PRL Update)
Connect to a Wi-Fi network
Tap the phone app
Dial # # 873283 #
Tap Call
"Starting Service Update" message will appear - tap OK
If update is successful "Service Update Complete" message will appear after about a minute - tap OK

3-Check for an old LTE APN profile and delete it.
The problem was due to a Profile named "LTE APN". (Settings>General>Profiles - Right below "VPN". There may not be "Profile" on the Menu, depending on the carrier used before.). Deleted this Profile, then LTE Data signal showed up! This Profile was probably from the previous carrier.

So I would like to get all my ducks in a row before I proceed to activate the phone on Sprint. What steps do I need to do to get the brand new, not out of the box, Boost Moto G6 on this plan? Do I need the SIM card first or can I just call without it? I would appreciate it if somebody can give me a step-by-step. Thanks in advance.

It already has the sim. Just call and give the imei and iccid (which are on the outside of the box). Do not ask questions before doing so. Do not mention Boost. It is a "Motorola phone" if they ask.

Thanks again. Rep'd.

The box has two imei #'s, hex and Dec, which one do they want?
Is it okay to turn the phone on before going through activating it?

Edit: Anyone else unable to get a new Google Voice number?
I go through the steps and verified using a temp phone number, but the GV phone number doesn't stick to my account. I believe Google flagged my account or something. Also, I tried making a new Google account and it still would not work.

Note for Google Voice ppl: pick a number that has coverage under Sprint, otherwise the rep might not take it. I called, thought I was set to go, but the Google voice number is in a dead zone. And for some reason I'm unable to get a new Google voice number smh

Edit: I was unable to add a Google Voice number because the phone number I was giving them was a random number from an app and not a big 4 number (ATT, Tmo, Sprint, Verizon).

There is always a chance that you will not be able to activate it being a Boost phone. So no, don't open the box or turn the phone on until it's accepted on Sprint. This way you can return it un opened if need be
HEX is what they asked for if I remember correctly

People recommend using the hex one.
freddiez says do not open the box and I agree.
