Hey guys, question. My current line is up 9/30/18 on this deal. This week I'm moving my wife's line from Cricket onto a new Sprint account using her SSN. When my deal is up on 9/30, can I port it out to T-Mobile and then into her account to get this deal?

Has anyone been able to do this today? I've tried and when it comes to ordering the SIM card and paying for it I get an error that my payment was declined.

But I've tried five different credit cards and get the error for all of them.

You can call your bank and they will tell you if they declined anything.

(But you are better advised to pick up a sim locally if you need one, and call in, anyway for lower cost and immediate activation).

u can still do that ...do it now.
..that way the "45 days" for that ss # will start now..instead of in 2-3 weeks..

do tmobile e sim...and will cost ~$3...

may not be worth if for only 2-3 weeks...but is extra insurance and the cost is minimal..

good luck
That's a good idea - I may give it a try!

Does Red Pocket otherwise sound good for using during the interim period? My understanding is that any non-Sprint carrier/MVNO should qualify for the Sprint BYOD deal. I plan to choose RP's ATT or T-Mobile based service to be safe for future eligibility for the Sprint 1 year free promo, although RP offers different SIMs for CDMA (Verizon) and CDMAS (Sprint). So perhaps choosing Verizon would also be fine for keeping my phone (Moto G5+) off Sprint CDMA...

I searched the thread and it seems like a few people have ported to/from Red Pocket without trouble, but just figured I would check for any other tips or experiences. Smilie

I used Red Pocket (AT&T side) no problem. They were extremely helpful and cooperative. Far easier to deal with than TMobile in my experience.

I looked at the specs at
https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-37203
and the LTE Sprint bands are listed, that's true in the case of the TMO model, but the overall integration has not been tested. I do not see CDMA Voice listed either especially band BC10.

Sprint could never enable the phone until everything is ready and integrated. A lot of features would not work.

Once they can support it, and brand switching is ready, Samsung will do an OTA and Sprint will add it to database. That is what happened with S8, long after release, and then Note 8, well after release. Initially, they just put out independent carrier branded models plus the unbranded model. Is this ridiculous? Yes, I agree it is, but I am just describing what the situation is.
I understand what you are saying, but all of this testing should have been done before the phone was sold. once its advertised as being eligible to be used on all carriers unlocked, it should be. Nothing else should matter. This is fraud being committed by these wireless carriers and Samsung itself.

When I received my SIM today and activated online the confirmation page stated that the free unlimited is only till 4/30/2019? Can I see somewhere else the correct date? Has anyone else seen this?

You're saving more than $900 in the first year on a single line over Verizon's unlimited rates, and you get
FREE Unlimited data, talk and text until 4/30/19

I agree with you largely although "fraud" may be a little strong for me.

In this forum, I am mainly just looking to say what works and what doesn't, rather than whether it should or not.

The Unbranded Unlocked model does work is accepted on all carriers BUT lacks some carrier specific features on any one of them.

The carrier-branded versions, on the other hand, even if unlocked, often will not work on other carriers UNLESS and until Samsung brings out carrier brand switching for that model, as it has for S8 and Note 8, but not yet S9..

Most people do not realize that so it has to be explained.

Whether or not to condemn it is separate for me.

Usually that means you still have your old account stuck in your phone.

Do reset Carrier Data or equivalent.

What phone?

Should be in online owner's manual.

Or search this thread or online for instructions.
