I called for termination after the free one year promotion period. Lines are cancelled on last day of service period given in the bill. So I would end up paying $65+ as my last bill.

Looks like this promotion has ended and only one free line per SS#

Heads up for others still in free promotion period. Wake up now and check your bills to avoid bigger bills and act accordingly.
Good luck.

I'm confused lol. 2 days ago my credit card was charged $3.66 for a statement of service from June 13 to July 14.
That is a statement of charges not service. It includes a charge for service for 7/14-8/13. Sprint should show that on bill to avoid confusion but they don't.

Hi, anyone know any downsides to Virgin Mobile bring your iPhone on "$1/mo for 6 months" versus Sprint? One of my friend has spare iPhone but doesn't want hard credit inquiry, and I am thinking the plan is similar (Sprint Free Year vs. Virgin BYOP), video streaming at up to 480+ resolution, music at up to 500kbps and streaming cloud gaming at up to 2Mbps. No Hotspot. Maybe since Virgin is subsidiary/MNVO it will be deprioritized and get worse performance than when on Sprint?

Thanks

Boost customers get 50 minutes of domestic roaming per month. Google search Virgin domestic roaming and see what it says. I don't know if/to what degree they're deprioritized.

Sprint does not need to routinely deprioritize its MVNO's or Boost as it has enough capacity.

It should be fine.

Speaking of Virgin Mobile, has anyone re-used a Sprint SIM card for their $1 promotion? If I could avoid buying a $12 SIM card for it, I would.

Sprint and Boost sims are one and the same thing and never expire so it would work if they allow it. They should, but I have no knowledge if they do. Tell them it is a new Boost sim from a Boost sim kit.

I tried today at https://activate.virginmobileusa....our-device and it kept failing for me, I think it won't work unless I buy SIM from them at $10, maybe I am dumb and just bought wrong ICCID or something.

https://www.virginmobileusa.com/p...evice.html

I get this error at final page when I am trying to activate (with my old Sprint SIM ICCID, it is correct size/version, etc. according to me)

"ICC_ID is missing. Resubmit the order with ICCID. The line ID associated with this phone was [1].

Application processing error"

You're right. I talked to multiple reps and they told me the only way to get this promo is to buy their SIM card. I guess this is how they're making money (and keeping track of subscribers) since there's no credit check whereas at sprint, you're able to use your own SIM card.

I am trying to order the SIM through their website and keep getting this error after I enter my SSN and DOB and hit submit.

Your order requires additional processing
We're sorry. We can't complete your order online, but give us a ring and we'll get you taken care of.

Anyone who faced similar issue please help.

I called the number displayed in the error message, they put me on hold multiple times, took all my info and then the lady said that she is seeing some error in creating my account and will call me back in 15 - 20 mins and that never happened.

There is no way they can tell a sprint sim card from a Virgin sim card because there is no difference.

The Boost sim kit is the one and only sim kit sold for all three brands in common. It says so on the package. There is no such thing as a Virgin sim.

On the other hand, you do have to have the correct sim for your phone model. What is the model?

Yes there's no difference, all sprint and MVNOs SIM cards looks the same but Virgin Mobile is very adamant and persistent (for this promo) about purchasing a SIM card from them. Another con for this promo is that you cannot swap devices. If you lose your phone, you have to purchase one of their devices to continue service.

I am using iPhone SE (A1662 Model but it is unlocked and eligible for Sprint activation also, and eligible on Virgin Mobile website also for $1/month), on Ting's Website says I have 2 compartible SIMs - SIMOLW506TC and SIMOLW416C. I am using Virgin BYOD Kit (which was free last year for limited time), it is SIMOLW416C model.

The first 2 pictures are of my SIM Kit (first picture I stole from eBay, because I don't know how to edit pictures on my chromebook, but it is same SIMOLW416C model and barcode says 854798005095), but they suggest I should get the 3rd picture one
