After 2 unsuccessful attempts to get my moto g6 play unlocked by calling 888-211-4727, I need some advice. Its been over 50 days, I am the original owner, no money owed, all is good. Its obvious the folks that answer the phone have no clue, one said it was already unlocked, not true, another said they have to fill out a request. Still no dice, why do they make it so difficult? Any advice from anyone getting there phone unlocked with sprint?
About a week ago I paid off a phone (Android) on 1 of my Sprint lines in anticipation of porting it out and then back in to the free service. At the conclusion of the chat the rep said she would submit the unlock request but she also provided the information if I wanted to initiate the unlock myself (which I did not do).

"For assistance with unlocking your device, please call Sprint Account Services by following these easy steps: Call 1-888-211-4727. Enter your phone number. Select option 5. Select option 5 again. Select option 1."

Now today I paid off the rest of my agreements for 3 other lines at a local Sprint store.
When I got home I decided to call the 4727 number to attempt to unlock one of the phones.
The first rep got me and when I stated what I wanted to do told me she couldn't do an unlock on an iphone and passed me to another rep. He began to query me on why I wanted to unlock the device and then if I had the intention of leaving Sprint. Then he told me he could save me some money on my current plan by switching me. I refused all this and then he told me the device was unlocked and in fact was already unlocked so he didn't have to do anything which I thought was strange. I am not really sure if the device is unlocked or not as I haven't found any clear way to see if an iphone is truly unlocked. I guess maybe put in another provider's sim would do it but I was hoping to see something in a menu.

It would seem that Sprint is terrified that you will leave them and makes it very difficult to unlock any phone. Putting a call into Sprint office of the prez later today and see what they have to day about their unlock games.

BTW, if you read their unlock policy it clearly says that if your phone qualifies it will AUTOMATICALLY be unlocked after 50 days. Yeah right! A rep specifically told me mine was unlocked, its not. I record all my calls so this is getting interesting and probably embarassing for Sprint.

Hi, sorry if it has been answered, when is the last day of this BYOD promotion?
The last date has not been announced and will not be announced and there is nobody who has that info.

They would be fools to announce it much ahead of time.

Numerous reps and insiders have quoted end dates which all proved false.

It has been running continuously for 15 months.

You do not need to do that.

Just ask if the person you are talking to is with Account Services and if not ask to be transferred to Account Services for an unlock.

START the conversation with that.

That is all you have to do.

Also the phone you are unlocking is not eligible to be on Sprint Postpaid and if you go too far they may discover that and kick it off.

That is normal because Unlocks and Customer Retention are the same department, which is called Account Services.

You can verify unlock by getting the Apple GSX report for $1 on Ebay.

SirLinux posted the full instructions to reach Account Services for an unlock request: "For assistance with unlocking your device, please call Sprint Account Services by following these easy steps: Call 1-888-211-4727. Enter your phone number. Select option 5. Select option 5 again. Select option 1."

Also it may be unlocked already. Did you do as suggested by wealthisachoice (update PRL and Profile)?

1. Can't take call and use internet at the same time on my iPhone X. WTF. [A]
2. Used my GV number to port with no issues.
3. 17$ for insurance and $2.90+$2.90 monthly bill.

[A] Jr M (CSR).: To tell you honestly. Even the other provider don't have this feature in regards to making calls and use the internet at the same time
Jr M.: Actually Sprint is working on upgrading our system to have that feature on making calls and At the same time browsing to internet

connected to supervisor:
Leanjoy P.: I understand the situation and your frustration.
Leanjoy P.: Sprint is continually working to expand our cell sites and improve our coverage.
Leanjoy P.: Throughout the next year we will be making major updates to your market, upgrading our network to 5G.
Leanjoy P.: With this upgrade it should support both Voice and data at the same time.
Leanjoy P.: We are currently doing that one. We are updating the towers to make sure that by next year will be the first network to offer 5g network.
You: why not invest on the current infrastructure and stop day dreaming?
You: you are light years behind this current technology, isn't it?
You: actually I just thought of switching to sprint around 17 phone lines if your current network works properly in my office location.
You: but you guys just missed the chance.
Leanjoy P.: We dont wanna miss the chance of losing you as a customer.
Leanjoy P.: This is why we try our best to update the tower to ensure that the service and coverage would be wider.
Leanjoy P.: This is also the reason why we team up with tmobile
You: last network to follow the tech, and first network to start a trend? that is cute. Will just stick to this 2nd phone for now on Sprint and have my services by the bigger brothers.Have a nice day Joy.
