He will not touch a Boost phone. You will not be able to get it on. The problem is not that flag anyway. - there are special Boost flags. Boost is not an MVNO.

I an fully aware that new unactivated Boost phones are being let on in many cases.

This has nothing to do with this person's post about a Volt 2 Boost phone previously active on Boost. These will be rejected (I have tried).
Quote from comintel :
New unactivated Boost phones, YES.

Old phones activated on Boost in the past, NO.. Not one single person has ever reported success in activating a Boost Volt 2 on this plan. That was one of the most popular phones ever sold for use on Boost/Sprint and you can be sure myriads have tried.
thx for that clarification, appreciate it!!

Usually not iPhones to my knowledge, where they are subsidized.

There were one or two exceptions a long time ago but nothing recent that I have seen.

I had the Sprint's free unlimited data for a year and it was a super slick deal ... cost $4.65 a month.
It expired in August Frown

I want another free year!

Here's my question:
I want to port out of Sprint, wait 45 days, and if the Sprint unlimited data offer is still available, then sign up and port back into Sprint for another year. Folks are saying that if you port out for 45 days you care eligible to sign up for the free unlimited plan for another year.

If I switch to Tello for 45 days will this work (Tello is now offering 2 months free service)? Or will it NOT work due to being a Sprint MVNO?

Am I better off porting out to Mint, then after the 45 days sign up again with Sprint?

I'm a n00b when it comes to the technical attributes of cell phone companies, plans, and all that cell provider exegesis.
Thanks!
Tello deal link?

Nvm, got it, was searching with one L. laugh out loud

The BYOD plan is a postpaid service. That's why it has a credit check. They bill at the end of the cycle.

I paid for June 28 - July 27 service on August 20. I just received the bill for July 28 - August 27. I had service until August 15. They didn't charge me for July 28 - August 15.
Sprint bills in advance that is why you get your first statement of charges(post dated back to 1 day before sign up)within a few days of sign up. The due date is approximately 23 days into bill cycle. So you get 23 days of postpaid service and 7 days prepaid service every month.
The dates you see on your statement are for CHARGES during those dates and include CHARGES for next months service.
So your June 28- July 27 statement(due August 20th) included charges for service for July 28-August 27. Your final statement of charges for July 28-August 27 was $0 because it did not include charges for August 28-September 27 since line was cancelled.
You can go back and look when you paid your first bill and it should be about 23 days after you started your service.
It is confusing because Sprint does not list the dates of service you are being charged for(unless you add a line during bill cycle then they show dates of service you are being charged).

I think I get what you're saying now - thanks for clarifying.

I just went back and, yeah, the first bill was dated Aug 27 - Aug 27 (2017) for ~$10 (since it took 1-2 cycles for the autopay discount to kick in). It was issued on September 4 and auto paid on the 20th, which is 23 days into the cycle.

So if I carry that schedule over month to month, then it makes sense that my "final" bill for Aug 28 - Sep 27 is $0.

IIRC this was the same when I ported out of Verizon to Sprint - you're essentially "paid up" an extra month at any given time, similar to how a security deposit of one month's rent might function.

Thanks for all the helpful discussions. I just did it today: switching from Virgin Mobile to T Mobile then back to Sprint. I didn't need to use someone else's SSN. It took a while to get to speak to someone at T Mobile for porting in; but the sprint part was pretty quick. I did get pushed for the protection plan and accepted it; then got online and cancelled it the same day.

In other Sprint news: Sprint's new Unlimited Premium plan is one of the best deals you're going to see this year.
