I got 2 lines under this promo that expire in November 2018. From what I understand, I can secure the promo for another year by signing up with a different SSN and porting over a number before 9/13/18. Is there a deadline to bring my two lines over? If I port out/port in at the end of November to the new account, would the expiration be in 11/2019 or would the max still be 9/30/2019?

What course of actions would be recommended to get another free year?

Yes - it is popular too.

Remember do not use the word BOOST or PREPAID when activating with Sprint. And do it by phone only.
Slightly off topic... but would you happen to know if Boost E5 Play can be unlocked and used with GSM network? The tech spec for that device states it is CDMA/GSM device but i am guessing it must be CDMA locked since it is from Boost?

Spring will unlock it after 50 days use and then you can use it on GSM also.

I chatted with the sprint and they said that if I get the deal and want to add more lines I should add the extra lines before the promotion ends to have all of the lines free.
From what I read here though, it is not necessary the case. It seems I can secure the deal with my number, and any time later I can add extra lines (up to 4) any tim and still have all of them free.
Is my understanding correct?

Some posters here guess one way, some the other.
Some reps guess one way, some the other.
There is no clear consensus view among either group, let alone overall.

Oh, by the way, chat can be the least reliable of all to ask, as they have little to do with this promo and never have had. They have been confused throughout on even the basics such the current end of savings date. There is no chat support for for this promo.

Then again, on this question, their guess might be as good as anybody's.

Personally I think it will still be possible based on the wording:
"Add a Line: Add a line at any time with port-in..."

In my opinion, that promise was made, and cannot be changed. Some others here have the opposite view.

I ported in more lines a few weeks after I setup the first line, but the promotion was still active. The plan expiration for all of my lines is the same. In your case, I would add lines as soon as possible because rules may change once the promotion has officially ended.

I would port out to metro pcs and get the iPhone 6s for free to resell or use later. I believe you could deactivate it on the MetroPCS network. Or, I might get the iPhone se from att prepaid, for $49, which could be used on Cricket, attt prepaid, or h2o as well at a later time, or easily resold. Then port back in to Sprint. That way you have a nice new piece of hardware to try out and you don't lose anything in the process as far as value goes.

Sorry, the 6s is $50 at Metro, but the SE is free at Metro.

my iphone 8 says it doesn't pass the FED test, according to swappa and ting. does that mean once i call to activate the phone, they'll deny it? when i entered the imei number through the sprint website (with a phone number) it didn't say anything about phone not being eligible or under financial obligation or anything... do they do the FED test then, or only when actually trying to activate the phone. anyone had similar issue and had it work? not work? thanks!

I agree with Rolanda. To be safe, I would port all lines out and back in before D-day(decision day) Ending date will stay the same anyway, so no reason not to do it now. Just my 2 Cents.

How do I search this thread? In the past I was able to search thread within slickdeals. I don't see that option.

I wanted to know if I would be able to pay for hotspot and add it when needed?

Thanks!!

Need to add another line for my spouse to my 1 year free plan. Any recommendation on the cheapest possible phone i can get to available this service?

Edit 1: Will this device work for BYOD? https://www.walmart.com/ip/Virgin...10&veh=aff
I doubt you'll be able to get the J3 to work. Your best bet is reading into one of the Moto Gs from Boost and how you can get one to work on this plan. That option is very YMMV and I don't know if stores even care them still. You might need to go used... maybe an iPhone SE?
