What a deal! Just ended my 1 year free. Ported my number over to Mint for the next 3 months at $15/mo with unlimited everything else, 2gb of data at high speed. Will be coming back to Sprint after 45 days, hopefully they still have this plan. I'll also port my Google Voice number so I can try out some android phones (pixel or oneplus), since iMessage is the devil when it comes letting go of your texting to android (freaking apple, love up but hate um at the same time)

Hey Desi! Only remember you from that cool Gif you have. Yeah, crossing my fingers it works. Also, looks like Sprint doesn't support Oneplus so it'll have to be Pixel.

The seller on Swappa swears up and down that he checked the IMEI on Swappa and it came back as ready to activate and that there was no money owed. Sprint said otherwise. I like your method of checking. Thank you. I will end up with a phone someday. Cannot officially upgrade yet, since I just renewed on the BYOD plan. That is why I felt the need to purchase a pre-owned phone outright rather than purchase from Sprint.
I'm sure that he did test it on Swappa but the problem is that testing it on Swappa means nothing for the reasons I gave. It needs to be tested on Sprint if it is going to be activated on Sprint, not some third party service that uses a one-size-fits-all test designed to test usability on mvno's (which is where most Swappa customers want to activate) rather than directly on the carrier.

hello folks. i have 3 lines i'm trying to move to this deal. however, I currently only have 1 compatible phone. i am in the process of getting 2 other phones that are compatible for the other lines.

question is - can I open an account with 1 line then add the other 2 once I have the phones on hand to take advantage of this deal? or do i need to order all 3 at once? thanks

You mean hotspot? I actually do have it working on my unlocked iPhone 7. The thing Mint doesn't have is Wifi calling which I was scared of since reception at my house is not the greatest but thank god it works fine with Mint here.

I was wrong. I didn't know that they were going to add that option. I had mint sim about 1.5 years ago and I wasn't able to use that feature.

i dont know whats going on with sprint here in San Antonio Texas, but, the data speed along with signals have been very bad these 3 past days!
speed went down from 60mbps to barely 10, if you pick a signal.

Starting with one line and then adding the two others later is just fine. The two additional lines will have the same deal expiration date as the first line.

Haven't seen it in the last few pages, but in case you didn't see...

If you want a Boost Motorola G6 Play to swap in on this deal, it is once again $80 on the Boost website with promo code FALL2018.

So I've been following this thread off and on for a good while now, and I haven't seen anyone in my exact situation...so please don't crucify me if the answer to this question was posted somewhere in the previous ~600 pages...

I currently have a brand new Verizon Pre-Paid Moto E4. It's still in unopened box. I can't check the phone on that Sprint website bc I don't have a phone number associated with the account. I have the IMEI, but I also need phone number, right?

On the back of the box it states there are two ways to unlock the phone: Have it activated for one year OR make $75 in payments. My questions are as follows:

1) Will those unlock services on ebay get around the two requirements listed above? And if so, can I simply hook up a new google voice number to the phone and then port that over to this free Sprint plan?

2) If there are no work-arounds, assuming I make the $75 in payments (most likely 2 months of service should be more than enough...I think) am I off the hook with Verizon and can port over at any time? Or do I need to contact Verizon prior to port? In other words, will the phone magically be unlocked once I hit that $75 limit, or do I need Verizon to do something on their end?

3) The more I think about it, the less I like the idea of waiting 2 months to get on the Sprint plan...So if those unlock deals on ebay are not gonna work for what I'm trying to do, what is the fastest and cheapest method of getting a semi-decent phone set up on this Sprint plan?

FWIW, I currently have 3 phones on a Verizon plan. I still owe money on all three. But my S7 Edge is almost paid off. I've had it with Verizon for well over a year. I'm thinking that paying that off and porting over to Sprint might be my best move. The phone is cracked so bad that 1/3 of the screen constantly flickers. If I pay it off, and port it over, I would at least be able to lock myself into this sprint plan now...(I have a fear that the deal will change or expire before I get a chance to do it with a phone that I prefer...)

Any thoughts/insight would be greatly appreciated.

I can tell you from personal experience. The Verizon Prepaid Moto E4 will not work on Sprint. I hopped on this deal awhile back on SD. It can be unlocked to work on GSM networks, but not Sprint or Verizon postpaid. Details in wiki here:

You're better off getting a Boost Motorola G6 Play currently on the Boost website for $80 with promo code Fall2018. Details on how to get this on the free Sprint plan are in the wiki.
