Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Quote from Scott.MI :
I agree with you. It seems he thinks he is going to own the phone after he makes 12 lease payments then the additional 6 lease payments will buy out the lease and he'll own it.

To fully own a leased phone will cost 18 lease payments PLUS the buyout option, not 12 plus 6. If it's an 18 (or even 16) month lease, that number of payments only satisfies the full lease terms and like everything else, you don't own it at the end of the lease unless you pay extra for the buyout.
thanks

i think he knows he will have to payout at end of 12 months.
the only issue it seems is that the N 9 was on sale.
i dont remember it being on sale, but truthfully i dont track note 9 prices.

he has said he thinks he will pay ~800 including tax + fees
(i think it will be 1000 + tax+fees)

as u mentioned, also the 16 month lease is unheard of (i think it will be 18mts)

as i think about it, in the end is still not too bad if u had intended to get a N9 anyways

for me, i think is better to get a 1 year old flagship device and pay ~150 - 200
(either new or like new)

u can swap a device anytime on the free plan, if u pay full price.
at the time, the z2 was discounted to 120 and that was the full price
Right, glad to hear from you cause I remember you talking about it. How did you buy it, via the Sprint Store or online. I'm new to Sprint. Brought my unlocked g5 plus which is good but has no wi-fi capability on Sprint. I figure in a month or so, there's gonna be lots of phone deals and I can do a swap.

IF YOU BUY and pay full price, YES. I would recommend buying from Apple Store.

In listing it says only iPhone 7+ from Verizon can be transported. So I need confirmation before I pay off AT&T and move to Sprint.

Thanks!
Check model under settings/general/about tap model.
If model A1661 will be eligible for Sprint, if A1784 not eligible.

Yes because there is no such thing as a Virgin sim card. There are only Sprint/Boost/Virgin sim cards.

HOWEVER it must be the EXACT CORRECT sim part number for a particular phone. There are dozen of different part numbers. You must look this up unless of course you are using it in the same phone which is fine.

Sprint sim cards never expire and can always be reused (unless left activated somewhere else).

You do not activate a sim on Sprint. You activate an IMEI primarily.

Do not attempt to "try" sims in phones of a different model or to move service by moving a sim alone. Sprint will lose patience with you fast if you do that.

After a year with sprint switched to Tello (big mistake sprint flagged my MEID with PLBL) after two month purchased T-mobile virtual sim and ported the number to T-mobile. Now 10 days later still no go, sprint byod checker shows as "Sorry, but our records show you still owe Sprint for this device. Sign in to find this device on your account."
Called sprint support 3 times went on chat logged a ticked to change MVNO flag in database from PLBL to SPCS after 4 business days got email "line 8********* cannot be unlocked because its active on another carrier's network. Contact you other carrier for assistance." Monday Oct 1 went to store logged a ClickIT ticket now its Thursday Oct 4 have not heard from them byod checker still shows same message. Any help or suggestions what can I do now.

Ask Tello to fully deactivate it.

Then when that is complete you can get the flag flipped by LiterallyUnlimited on reddit (or by Sprint if you like but it will take longer).

By the way it is Tello that set it to PLBL and they should be willing to set it back but they are lazy and refuse. Ting would do it if it was Ting. So would Google Fi and even FP.

The most horrible cell company. Good luck using your internet while on a call with the iPhone, and good luck finding someone who speaks English on customer service or really getting the deal they offer. I had to call every month and fight weird charges. This company is a mess
Interesting. Not being able to use cellular data for internet while talking is a minor inconvenience compared to the year of free service. Talk, text, and data work everywhere we need it to. Every person I talked to in customer service spoke perfect English whether in the states or the Philippines and all were very professional. We're on our second year of free service and have never encountered any "weird" charges. Sorry you had such a bad experience.

This is helpful, thanks. I have had the BYOD plan for the last year and I am doing the temporary T Mobile signup then flip the same phones and SIM cards back onto a second year of BYOD with a different account holder - adding somebody who had Virgin Mobile previously so we'll just use their same SIM

From the Wiki:

Device Upgrades (you can still "swap" a device that you buy separately)

When can I upgrade to a new phone on this promotion?
Upgrades for lines activated on the FREE Unlimited plan will be allowed after 120 days of service. Any upgrades prior to the 120 days will require a plan change to the Unlimited data, talk and text plan. Unfortunately, you'll lose the remaining free months in your year of free service.

So, people mention the Moto Z2 Force which could have been had for $120 as an upgrade through Sprint; or additionally through a 3rd party for $120 with immediate activation, or $160 with activation later. As a new subscriber to this plan (less than 120 days), could someone please clarify what I could do without losing my Free Plan Status if these offers were to magically reappear today.

Thanks.
This deal was somewhat special in that the $120 price was not a sale or special. It became the full price of the Z2 Force.
So if, as you asked, this were to become available again you could simply walk into a Sprint store and purchase the phone full price. Then swap it into your BYOD plan. No harm no foul.
Of course that's not going to happen.
So you simply need to swap in a phone that you purchase anywhere that's free and clear and CDMA compatible with Sprint. ( Preferably not flagged on any MVNO).
After 120 days you will see a purple Banner on your mysprint app so you can take advantage of any other deals that come down the pike.
Sprint is great for this.
Essential phone deal was epic. Z2 force was semi-epic.
Stick around. You will get your phone deal also.
Happy motoring
