Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

That's exactly the hell I went thru activating it. At one point, while I was declining their up sells, I think one guy hung up on me.

One more technical question - do I need a special iPhone SE or 6/6s for Sprint or do all of them have the CDMA radios? I am not an iPhone guy either (other wise I am IT engineer)
For Iphone SE, yes, you need Sprint/ global version A1723 not the USA version (Verizon, Tmobile and AT&T use same model A1662).

If you use iPhone SE Verizon, it will work on Sprint however it lacks band 41, one of Sprint LTE band.

For Iphone 6s, it works for all 4 carriers.

I hope you skip iPhone 6. It is such an old iPhone that has only 1 gb of RAM.

Thank you sir. It will be my second phone, mostly used as a back up, when T-Mobile has low signal in some areas. So the low RAM doesn't bother me much.

Likely you can find the problem yourself.

All unlocked U.S. Note 8's should now be eligible (both branded and unbranded), but which is it, SM-N950U or SM-N950U1?

To help isolate the problem, try this alternative checker (which is NOT the same one as the one for this offer).

https://www.sprint.com/en/landing...phone.html

what does it say?

Also try Tello and Ting checkers. What do they say?

Does it have reasonably current updates on?

Has it ever been on a Sprint mvno?

Could it be currently active on another account?

Could there be money owed on it or some kind of lien or could it have been reported lost? Do you know its history?

If you do take it to a store, go to a Sprint owned corporate store, not a franchise.
I'm asking for my sister. I got it off Swappa. It was on Red Pocket AT&T but stopped working after a few months so moved it to Total Wireless where it is now. It's working as it should.

I tried contacting the guy on Reddit with Ting. He said he'd have to move phone to Ting to test it or whatever. I'm afraid of my sister moving her phone number over while she is on a plan. Didn't want her to lose her number or her plan so didn't go that route. I didn't know if I could simply take it to a Sprint store and let them do whatever to get it to be able to be compatible with Sprint.

I have no idea what is involved. Guy said his phone was paid off. We got the receipt where he paid for it in full from Best Buy.

Thanks!!

Yeah I figured it would have a non-straightforward background.

It would not be anything they want to do physically to the phone itself.

It would be more like they want to see it physically hands-on because of some serial number discrepancy or ownership or payment issue or identity issue or something like that.

Well, AT&T kicked it off maybe, now maybe Sprint has its doubts, I would say something is up with the history of the phone.

You can go a corporate-owned store but it is anybody's guess what will happen. They might just clear it once they see it and some ID etc.

Note that stores cannot set up the Free plan so do not let them try.

Thanks. Maybe I'll just keep it on Verizon since so far that's the only network it works fully on. Would prefer it to be on Verizon anyway so hopefully it doesn't stop working with them.

Thanks. Second rep is now telling me that with this free promo I can not switch phones. "You will loose your free year if you switch phones". Go figure.
You can swap phones whenever you want. It just can't be one that is financed or leased through Sprint while you're still in the 120 day waiting period.

FYI, The T-Mobile S9+ received update BRJ5 today 11/7 that should enable auto brand switching. If you got update it should auto switch to Sprint software after update.
That is what I ended up doing. I had to wait until 11/7 and do the update before my phone would register on the Sprint network. My unlocked T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S9+ has full LTE capability on band 41 and the phone does power up with the Sprint logo. I ran a speed test at my work where I use cellular data and got 62mb/s download and 7mb/s upload. Pretty pleased!

KickStart $25 is back:

https://www.sprint.com/en/shop/offers.html

OK that's a step in the right direction as we anticipated for the Holiday and we've got it duly in place a couple of weeks before Black Friday. So anyone looking for a $25 plan that does not have a one year limit - that's a possibility you go!

Now let's see KickStart $15 on Black Friday! (there is no indication that may be the case - I am just speculating).

Alternatives:

(1) Free plan is also still available as of now with one-year limit.

(2) SWAC at $30 with lots of extras including hotspot and HD Video may be a better choice than KickStart for most (new customers only, personal employee referral required)

That's great that you have confirmed that it works!

So, people can take note, you can now, as of just this week, activate ANY U.S. branded or unbranded Samsung S9 or S9+ on Sprint! (Make sure the very latest firmware updates released just this week are on, and if course the phone cannot be still locked to another carrier. The availability date of the OTA update may vary slightly for some carriers, but I see reports AT&T has released it at least as well as TMobile. I think I saw Verizon also).

Congratulations to edog11 for calling the exact update date containing S9 Brand switching by Samsung and the Carriers to the exact day! (Sprint and I were evidently slightly early).

We already had this for S8 and Note 8.

Note 9 is still to come in the future.

Wait, what? It takes 24-hours to get to talk with an agent??
I setup a TMo number in about 10 min. Called 877-234-4299 and had them connect me to prepaid, which bypassed the long wait times.

Btw, If you're planning to get a iPhone 6, it'll have to be a Sprint (A1586), Verizon (A1549) or their factory unlocked versions.

To understand the circumstances better, what phone models are these?
Do you have roaming enabled (it is free). Not having roaming on can cause this problem. It is required to be left in now in some cases because of recent network changes that assume the new unlimited free TMO roaming is available on phones that the network knows would have those bands.
Do you get good bars and speeds when you do have service?
Does it happen at other locations?
