Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Will the note 9 or S9+ [bought from Samsung.com - Verizon activated] and paid off, work in BYOD Sprint ?

On Sprint BYOD page, under eligible devices, it's mentioned as
# Samsung s9+ special edition
# Samsung Note 9

I don't think the S9+ we buy from Verizon is a special edition..

and has anyone had luck getting any Note 9, whether is from ATT or Verizon, to work in Sprint BYOD ?
S9/9+ from Verizon or ATT is fine (once unlocked) now but there is no carrier switch released yet for Note 9 so NO for other carrier branded Note 9.

You are quoting an obsolete list that had errors in it as well.

Current and correct is
https://community.sprint.com/t5/P...-p/1020211 as noted in the Wiki.

Thanks, comintel.

This would include Virgin, Tello, Twigby and the Sprint side of Red Pocket but not be a problem for any of the others (because although some of the others are Sprint mvnos, those ones do not use Sprint numbers).
Let's say I move to Red Pocket. Am I able to request a particular side..."put me on the Verizon side"?

Quote from comintel :
(2) If the phone IMEI has been physically active on the Sprint network during thaat 45 day period, it will be flagged as MVNO owned and you have to get that flag flipped to activate the phone again on the way back to Sprint postpaid.
...
You did not say what phone you have so it is hard to answer your question filly without going into contingencies depending on what phone it is.
I haven't bought the phone yet, actually. My plan was buy the S9 Sprint version that's on BF special, activate it on my current Sprint plan, and then move it to a cheap MVNO for 45 days. I'm going overseas for a month and wanted to use that time to be on the bare bones plan for 45 days since I won't need to use mins/data. Or I could buy the Verizon version for $100 less, pay it off, move to a MVNO. Just seems like it'd be too many moving parts vs Sprint to MVNO back to Sprint.

(1) Yes, absolutely and then there is no problem (provided the phone will work on that side)

(2) Great phone! Only problem is Sprint will not unlock it until 50 days. Why not just leave it on Sprint for the $4 a month? Anyway it includes Global roaming. But make sure that the deal does not require activation on a Sprint paid plan (I have not looked at it - just a general caution).

If you buy VZ version VZ will unlock it right away. If you go this route, you may be best to put it on a VZ mvno such as Red Pocket rather than VZ itself for completely other reason (VZ MVNO's will not take phones later that were first activated on VZ postpaid).

Yikes, this is critical. The Verizon S9 requires device payment plan (that can be paid off immediately) and activation fee. If I read your caution correctly, I would not be able to move my VZ S9 to a VZMO because I would have had to activate on VZ to get the discount.

Verizon charges its mvno's a large penalty if they accept such phones. So most will not take them but a few deep-pocketed ones (e.g TracFone brands) may.

Account number is on bill. Pin can be reset online if you have security question answer. I wouldnt want reps giving account number and pin out over the phone, basic security.
I'm not waiting for a bill. I've tried to reset online but system is rejecting the phone number. LOL..it's a mess. It took two reps to correctly enter the security question of my first school. No time for this nonsense.

Oh I should add there has historically been a problem activating non-Verizon branded phones on Verizon MVNO's even when they would go ok on Verizon proper. Supposedly that was a bug so maybe it is fixed now......

I have a 4-line Sprint account. 2 Galaxy S7's, a Galaxy S6, and an iPhone 6S. All phones are owned by me. Is there a non-Sprint MVNO that is easy to jump to with these devices for 45 days where I can then come back to Sprint with minimal hassle?

Separately, we might add a 5th line and buy two new Galaxy S9's using one of the Black Friday deals. (Costco or whatever). Not married to Sprint...would consider a full TMO switch but we currently own zero GSM devices and their deals right now only include 1 device per master account.

So I'm looking at both switching deals as well as deals to remain with Sprint...

You can't "upgrade" phone from Sprint for 120 days -- which refers to buying a phone from Sprint

You can "device swap" any compatible phone that you buy on your own at any time -- just do a regular online chat for device swap. You'll need a compatible SIM for the new phone if old phone and new phone don't use the same SIM part number

It is too expensive at $309. You cannot use payment plans with this plan.

Here's one for $96 that you could order WITH YOUR PLAN at the same time from Sprint TeleSales I think, at the number ending in 8777 only, but others will have suggestions.

https://www.sprint.com/en/shop/ce...nasty.html

Or read back for other suggestions.

But there is a perfectly valid simple one if you need it that supports all Sprint features. A number here have bought it.

(Note that there are both prepaid and postpaid variants of this phone and the only one we have confirmed to activate is the postpaid variant).

I need a new phone for this deal and don't have a new enough device to trade-in.

Is there a deal for an iPhone XR that doesn't involve camping or a membership?
