Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Why are they asking for date of birth?
What will happen if we provide incorrect date?
This is very personal info, can be used to steal smbd's identity
It's a postpaid service and Sprint asks for date of birth and ssn. They'll do a credit check before creating the account.

Went to sprint store, got two SIM cards for free and then called to activate. Worked out fine for me. Thanks!

I just successfully created my free account and ported my Republic Wireless number last night.

I went to a Sprint store to get a SIM card (photo attached). I went to one that says "Sales Repair Bill Payment Former Customer Returns Sprint Forward Employee/Advantage Club Telesales & Web Returns Small businessexpert" and had a yellow star on the Sprint store locator. Not sure if that means it's a corporate store or not; most of the other stores near me offered fewer services, so I assume the one I went to was a corporate store. I was prepared to pay $5-$10 for the SIM, but they just gave it to me free.

Info needed from republic wireless to port number:
  • account id/number (10 digit phone number)
  • last 4 of account holder ss#
  • name/billing address of RW account holder

They tried to sell me the $15 phone protection plan because I can't change phones for 120 days. I said no, I have coverage from my credit card (pretty sure I don't, but I wanted to speed up the process).

The total process on the phone took about 90 minutes (+ ~5 minutes waiting in line for someone to answer at the beginning). Already had phone and SIM card.
  • They said something about Sprint being unhappy if I use more than >800 minutes roaming or 100MB roaming.
  • >50GB/month: may be deprioritized
  • SD video 480p
  • gaming 2Mb
  • music 500 Kbps
  • Can block purchases at no cost online

They initially said RW said the port would go into effect the next business day (Monday). The person I had been working with called someone in the number porting department, who successfully forced the number to manually port. I restarted the phone, it started up, then about a minute later there was a notification that said it was activating. And then the original rep I was working with most of the time called me back about 15 minutes later to check in and be sure everything worked, which was nice.

The weird thing is my RW phone still works. So now I have 2 phones using the same phone number. When I call out or send a text from either, it comes from the same number (mine). Someone (another RW customer) texted me and it went to my RW phone, but all other texts went to the newly Sprint-activated phone. I'm guessing on Monday my RW phone will be deactivated, but I'm interested to see if that's true. I didn't even know it was possible to have 2 phones activated with the same number, granted it seems that's only happening completely for outgoing calls right now.

Sorry if stupid question. I currently have phone on Boost mobile. Bought an unlocked Moto G6 during black Friday sales and was planning to switch over to this phone using Boost 3in1 sim kit. But then I saw this deal and it seems like I can still do it even though Boost is basically a subsidiary of Sprint. Please correct me if I am wrong.

So my question is this. Do I need to move my phone number over to my new phone (Moto G6) while I am still with Boost and then port it over to Sprint to get this deal? Or just call the Sprint number at the beginning of this post and say I have an unlocked phone that I want to use with this promotion and I also need to have my phone number switched over from Boost and assigned to the new phone (Moto G6)? Thanks for any help.

All information in WiKi

one good option is Google Voice

be sure to get a phone number from major city that has good Sprint coverage or u will get rare message "phone number not portable" you can check on the sprint map

Go to https://www.google.com/voice/b/0/unlock and unlock your Google Voice number, which will cost $3 and is payable online by card
Set a voicemail pin here https://www.google.com/voice/b/0#...ilsettings - you will need this pin in order to finish the porting
You account number will be your 10 digit phone number and the PIN is your voicemail pin that you'll set. In case you are activating over phone, tell the associate your existing provider is bandwidth.com.
https://support.google.com/voice/...67#xferout

If you've never set your pin or if you want to try to change it, this worked for me.
Change your PIN
On your computer, open Google Voice.
At the top left, open Menu Menu and then Legacy Google Voice. Google Voice will look different, but you're in the right place.
At the top right, click Settings Settings and then Settings.
Click the "Voicemail & Text" tab.
Next to "Voicemail PIN," enter and confirm your new PIN.
At the bottom, click Save changes.

PORT STATUS AND COMPLETION INFO:
Google Voice seemed stuck in porting limbo for over a day. Found this link which gave status and aid to call in. 5min later its ported and activated ~outofstock
https://shop2.sprint.com/en/wlnp/check.shtml
Call: 866-437-1818
** Google Voice (bandwidth.com) is considered a landline phone provider, and may take up to 3 days to port. If you call the # above, they will do it right away for you.
Ok now sprint is asking for the name of the company that I'm porting the number over to. I did what your said and made a google voice account. Do I tell them it's a google voice account?

I would love to switch if I can save money!!! I just bought the iPhone X when Verizon had the promotion to get a free iPhone 8 with a new line. Would I still be able to switch to Sprint now that I have a new payment plan for my X? And what about the 8 that I supposedly got free? Or am I locked in with Verizon because of my payment plan?

I believe Verizon does not lock phones, but you will be obligated to pay off the device upon porting out your number, that would otherwise be paid off monthly over several years. So $$$ up front.

I checked my IMEI with a freedompop phone number, and it says Eligible, so I continued to order sim card.

The first time I could saw the total amount, and entered my address, SSN and birth date, but I got an error to go to next step.

Then I tried again, but after click "continue" on the "Buy a SIM to get started" page, I got error:
We are unable to process your request at this time.

What caused this issue? is this due to the freedompop number is not associated with this phone?

The freedompop number is associated with another phone (Nexus 5).
The phone is Moto G6, already asked Google to remove it from their database and changed PLBL to SPCS.

If I port a couple numbers over with qualified phones, could I switch the SIM cards into unlocked iPhone XS (not on the list of qualified phones) after the service is active?

Port your current phone and number to t mobile, then follow the instructions in the wiki. Read note #6 carefully. T mobile porting tips are also in the wiki.

Try again. This time start with wiki note #1. They will usually send the proper sim and may waive the $10 shipping fee. Or procure your sim locally. Best buy and others. Read further in the wiki.
