Oh he may be right on that re video/tethering.

But as to PDA Net, you can do that easily wirelessly now, tablet to phone to Sprint. provided both the phone and the tablet are Android. It supports "Wifi Direct"

Just install PDANet on both and start it on both. Then press the WPS button on the phone and "Connect to PDANet hotspot" on the tablet. No cable required. No password required. I do it all the time.
how about a windows 10 computer?
is that have to be wired to phone?

That works too. No tether required.

In that case you install the PDANet PC client on the PC.

I have done it.

Guesswho is referring to the $3 plan that you have to put the T-mobile number on in addition to the cost of the virtual SIM. All recent reports are that you cannot port into T-mobile without funding.
explain?

Thanks.

It says "CDMA phone". CDMA is Sprint or Verizon.

If they gave you a Sprint number that might create a problem porting from it for this offer.

But I assume there was no problem?

Maybe they give you a Verizon number?
Good point. Mine was definitely a Verizon number because the Sprint CSR mentioned that when I said Net10. I know the person who originally recommended this 7 day SIM earlier in the thread successfully ported in, so he must have been on Verizon as well. I don't know if there is a risk of a Sprint number -- thanks for mentioning that potential issue.

Can anyone please suggest network settings for Pixel 3. I am able to make calls and receive text but data is next to 0 even though the signal shows LTE. I was asked to activate SIM with Type C, after checking Ting and sprint forum here i saw Pixel 3 is compatible to Type D. Switched it to Type D but same issue, no data. I was on call with customer service for more than 2 hrs with no resolution.
Sprint needs the following sim for Pixel 3. 516TQ or 416TQ
Is that what you have?

I think they probably are mostly Verizon.

I will give it a try!

It is a nice deal.

Yes. when it was first activated they had it done on 506TQ (Type C), after searching online i realized it has to be 516TQ (Type D). Called sprint to swap the SIM number, the SIM i have now is 516TQ, no data yet. Based on the coverage map it should be LTE (even the signal shows LTE bar & customer service also confirmed that the coverage should be good to that area).

I tried changing the network type to LTE instead of global (it chooses this by default) - No changes to data.

Others know better than I do about the operation but I imagine you will just need to do update PRL, update Profile , power cycle etc.

Yup..and obviously you cannot use the $3 you fund since you don't have a physical sim..but it serves your purpose for porting..
When you port from Sprint to T-mobile using a virtual SIM, you will have the cost of the SIM for $2.49 (or the going rate) plus the $3 plan that T-mobile makes you fund in order to port your number. Guesswho is saying you can't actually use that $3 that you funded because there is no SIM to put in your phone, but just consider it the cost of porting.

I just do not know the phone but others here do and may comment tonight.

You could ask Sprint to re-provision the phone or check the S4GRU thread on Pixel 3 or search the reddit Sprint forum..
