Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

I want to terminate one of the three lines on my account and do not care about keeping that number. I would prefer to port it out instead of cancelling. What is the cheapest option for porting out? I know people have mentioned H20 sims -- can that port be done without funding? I have a T-mobile digital sim, but it sounds like several people have had problems with their ports lately.

Thanks for the advice!
I believe h2o is the way to go. no funding reqd.

Thanks for the advice.

Just an update: the port was successful after I called in this afternoon to check on it and after that call it seemed the porting agent was able to make it active so I did not have to wait until 6PM CST. Weird how it took me to make the call to get it active sooner. Why they couldn't do that automatically without me calling, I don't know.

However, the concern about the free plan not attached to my number came true. The plan attached is the Unlimited Plan v4 for $60/month. Even though the porting agent said someone from the escalation team would contact me back today with a resolution, I did not receive such a call. So I called Marci's office late at night today but I assumed they were closed and I was transferred to regular customer service. The customer service agent did notate my concerns regarding getting the free plan back on my account and told me to wait a week and she would call me back to see if escalations actually resolves it.

After the call, I decided to email Marci as well. I also plan on calling Marci tomorrow during business hours. Does anyone know the exact hours Marci's office is open? I work during the day so I need to find the time as well to call in. Unless they can resolve everything automatically by email, that would be great.

I want to make sure I am on the free plan before my first bill generates so I can make sure all my charges are correct.
I am sorry to hear this. To tell the truth, it happens every time a port fails to the free plan. The best course in my opinion is to start over from scratch but people do not want to do that so instead they spend weeks sorting out it.

"wait a week"
You might want to ask if you can just port out and back in instead. It might be an easier answer for all concerned at a cost of, oh, $10 or so.

"Why they couldn't do that automatically without me calling"
I think ports that are not instant are scheduled for a specific time which is conservative. You can call to try to do it earlier if you want. Not everyone would want it done early.

The Wiki recommends against signing up online.

You must be calling or reaching the wrong call center. This is a targeted offer designed to be not locatable through the Sales Team or Customer Service.

You need to call the number ending in 8777 given in the wiki. They are open at the time you would have called at.

What's the best phones to get for this? My T-Mobile Note 8s don't qualify.
As noted by hodaddy, Tmo Note 8 is fully eligible and will work 100% once you find whatever glitch is affecting you.

I would note:
(1) You need the latest OTA updates to be on. You can use Samsung Smart Switch on a PC to apply them if you wish. This is the most common cause of non-eligibility.
(2)The phone must be unlocked. Check in Settings that it says Unlocked
(3)The phone number must be non-Sprint
(4) If it was on Google Fi or another Sprint mvno, that would be an issue

If these do not point to the problem, post more details of phone's history.

With an eligible phone and number to port, do I call Sprint to sign up for service first and order the sim from them? Or do I order the sim separately online first and then call once I receive it?
The wiki is not clear about this.

Why not get the sim locally. It is $2.99 at any Sprint Corporate-owned store (not at independently-owned stores), or free for iPhone owners at most Apple stores).

Then just call the number ending in 8777.

Try checking on ting and Tello checkers then retry Sprint checker. The Ting and Tello checker can refresh or push the imei into Sprint database

Probably it did not get updated. We have seen that for several TMobile MVNO users for whatever reason.
