Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

I'm extremely frustrated and confused. I just called to port my information from Cricket with the Moto G6 device and correct, unused Sprint SIM in hand.

After going through about 10 steps, the representative then claims that I have an existing account with Sprint and can't complete the process.

I have no idea what they are talking about and they wouldn't provide any information other than telling me I should complete a fraud packet to remove the existing account if it's not mine.

Neither my wife nor I have ever had service with Sprint. We both have an existing line with the old Freedompop service (on Sprint towers) that is still active on the free 200-minute plan. We created those lines when Freedompop sold cheap $20 devices and then threw them in the sock drawer in case of emergency. We also had Google Fi, but canceled the service and called to have the device IMIE removed, as instructed in the Wiki. There were no issues.

Can anyone tell me what I'm missing?

Most likely the IMEI's were not reset completely by Fi.

You need the IMEI more than just removed from Fi, you need the MVNO flag set to SPCS in the database as well, not PLBL. Were you specific that you wanted to use the phones on Sprint postpaid?

Check in the following checker and see what it says:

https://www.sprint.com/en/shop/br...hop:030918

If it says " you owe Sprint.." then that is what the problem is..

This may take a couple of days to sort out so probably best to pay Cricket for another month.

Also the numbers and phones have to be off Fi. The phones have to be off FP too.

I am assuming in the above that the rep was just a little confused. If there actually is an account on Sprint under your SSN, that would be another matter. You might be able to get around that by using spouse's SSN or you might want to straighten out the SSN issue first, get credit report etc..

Did this happened after you gave them your SS# and your app was being process? If so, Maybe try contacting the credit direct line at 800-639-6116 and I believe it's option #2 for manual processing. They can search your app with your SS# and can probably help you further. Anyways, just a suggestion...

Appreciate the detailed reply.

I did call and specified the Google Fi flag issue. Both devices show ready to activate at the link you provided.

The rep actually stated that I (my wife) has an existing account with Sprint. That is verifiably false. There is no evidence of any Sprint account history on any payment method, credit report, or anything else I've checked.

That is why I was so confused. It makes no sense. I'm going to call in right now and try to get everything switched using my SSN. I'll keep you posted.

Well is there a reason that it should have been locked?

Was it previously under Sprint contract?

Is this the famous Essential deal?

Anyway you can unlock it in 50 days or maybe earlier if you call Account Services to sort it out. At least you should be able to get it resolved once and for all....

That's great that they're clear anyway! Too bad about the SSN problem. Could always be a mistake/confusion as Kamyl points out.

I'm on the phone now, trying to use spouses info and things appear to be working.

I'll still have to call and sort out this existing account nonsense, so I appreciate your reply.
