Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Any way to hook up a phone that does not have service currently? Have an iPhone 5S that Id like to hook up and give to a friend. Any way to do this without having a phone number to port in? Or is there any pay as you go service I can use to get an assigned number then switch to this?

It should be very easy to get a number from numberbarn.com. The cost is $7 ($5 for one time setup fee and $2/mo for park). Once you have a number, you can port that number to Sprint. Porting from numberbarn to Sprint took less than 15 minutes in my case.

You need to check if the model is compatible with cdma and unlocked too. Att and T-Mobile ones are not. Verizon and Sprint models are.

Hey all Sorry if this has been asked before but I'm having problems searching through this post. I have an att number and phone at the moment and am thinking about trading it in at the apple store for an unlocked , sim free iPhone XR. I called customer service and he said it would work - however it's not on the approved device list . Don't want to end up with a new iPhone and no free service. Thanks for any help.

Do phones marked bad esn (on ebay) work on international carriers if one manages to unlock? Or they are really used for parts only? These are new phones in the box marked with bad esn. Who the hell would pay $750/800 for iPhone Xs for parts when I can get a new good esn one for $100-200 more.

edit:
looks like the LG g5 uses Part SIMGLW446C
there doesnt appear to be a iphone that uses same sim
so apple store will not be helpful.

free sim: maybe sprint corportae store, if u r lucky

pay sim (~$10 or less): any sprint store, best buy, boost mombile store

comintel , ho dadyy, edooggg may have more suggestions/information
can you clear the reason I have to have sim is because the old number (I am using now or Google voice) will be transfer to this new sim from sprint? another thing is once I have been approved from sprint, can I change my phone like if I want to buy from best buy and return this LG from eBay? thanks

SPRINT SERVICE IS THE WORST! I did this BYOD and have NO signal where I am despite the service map showing excellent coverage for voice and data. Meanwhile Verizon and T-Mobile get service where I am. Not even worth the $4 it costs in taxes to continue. Shame on Sprint.

Install LTE discovery app and check which LTE band is giving you a hard time.
Sprint got 25 (1900mhz), 26 (850mhz) and 41 (2500). 26 is the best for penetrating buildings and distance wize, 25 is next and 41 is for capacity.

So, if your phone chooses 25 or 41 - try disabling them following these instructions:

To get better data I had to disable LTE Band 25 and 41 on our phones. That forces it to use Band 26 which is giving us much improved data/internet.

In some areas we drop down to 3G but that is usually plenty good enough to use, we even watch live IPTV sometimes, even when the phone shows as only on 3G. We normally get 4-6 Mb download and upload speeds around this area. Not great speed but plenty useable.

1) To disable Band 25 open the phone app and try *#*#3282#*#* or ##3282## depending on the phone.

2) Select "LTE".

3) Select "Bands".

4)Tap on the menu, which on our phones is in the upper right corner and select "Edit". When it asks for the Passcode or MSL try 000000 which is the MSL on most of our phones. If that doesn't work you may need to call or chat with Sprint to get the MSL for your phones.

5) Select "Band 25 Enabled" and select "Off"

6) Select "Done" and get out of the app and reboot the phone. It should now be using Band 26

That's quite true - it is.

You will have to get it off FP first.
