Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

My port out to Tmobile and port back to Sprint on husband's account was stressful today. Reporting here in case anyone else is planning to do this and see if anyone else experienced similar or there was something I should have done differently. Tmobile rep claimed they have a new system and he couldn't activate my service without me paying the $3.28 for the service. The wait was super long today so hanging up and calling back wasn't going to be easy. So I went ahead with the process. He also swore he couldn't give me the account number until my port went through within 2 hours. Said I had to call back for the account number, but didn't tell me this until the process was already initiated. Called back when my phone stopped working on Sprint to get my account number from Tmobile. Spoke to 3 reps and all told me they couldn't get my account number until I verified a text code sent to my phone...which I couldn't do since my phone wasn't actually on Tmobile. Finally 3rd rep told me I had to go to my local Tmobile store and show my ID to get my account number. Called my local store and the guy felt sorry for me and gave me my account number thankfully. I really didn't want to lose my number so I was pretty stressed. I don't know if it's true that their system changed but all 4 reps I spoke to insisted that they are using a new system now and that's why they can't give account numbers and require payment for the plan ahead of time.
I used the online website option for porting into TMobile on the paygo plan. Still had to pay but no waiting, set my own pin and got the account number on the next page of submitting payment. Worth it not waiting online, Wondering if you'll get a rep who will let you not pay, knowing the account number right away and not having to deal with a person.

for the cost of the digital sim card plus the 3 dollar paygo plan plus tax it should be the standard choice now with all I'm hearing about trouble calling in

On my last three calls to T-mobile, I was told "we have a new system" as well, right at the beginning of the call (though only a 10 minute hold time). I did not proceed. Instead, I hung up and used the online T-mobile activation link from the wiki. I did pay $3.21, but the account number was on the confirmation page and I set up the 4 digit PIN during the process.

Between my first and last call and after my most recent call, others have reported porting over the phone without funding, but that was not an option for me.

Didn't even realize I could do it online. Wish I would have known. I didn't mind paying the fee. It was more the worry that I had lost my number due to not having an account number that was unpleasant. I appreciate all the help provided in this thread.

ETA: I see that link in the Wiki now. Don't see how I missed it before. I read through the Wiki. I highly recommend doing it online vs calling. Smilie

do you have link to do this?

I am trying to do on the phone and they said I can't port in from the digital SIM card I bought off eBay. Said that those have to make a new phone number.

has anyone had any success porting out from mint mobile?
I have spent 3+ hours on chat with sprint and also walked into store and talked to them for an hour.
We have tried 3 SIM cards and all "activate", and the number ports over; and phone is not locked.
However, the phone (iPhone 6s) will not get service. Upper left corner actually says
sprint for a few seconds and then flips to say "no service". Phone worked fine on mint.
Nobody at sprint can figure it out. Neither online customer service or in store can solve this. Could it be something to do with porting in from prepaid carrier? I have asked sprint this same question and everyone I have talked to says this isn't the issue
but of course they cannot tell me the problem. Looks like I will be going back to mint.
Unless anybody has any suggestions.
Thanks!
Update:
Called Apple last night (per one of the recommendations here ). After two more hours on phone with them troubleshooting,
resetting and restoring and sim troubleshooting with first and second level of support,
The second guy I talked to was convinced it was an antenna issue and suggested I go see the Apple geniuses in person.
So i went tonight, after 5 min the Apple genius saw that the phone was originally purchased in Canada
on international Tmobile network and said this phone will not work on sprint US network. (I asked sprint at least 4 times
if this could be my issue and they always said that the device is compatible. )
(Note - this phone was bought on amazon and I had no idea it was originally setup on intl Tmobile network in Canada)
Apple genius also ran full diagnostic test and phone is in perfect condition.
Looks like I am headed back to mint mobile (T-Mobile). Hope it works. Will update here in couple days.

The device probably is compatible (in fact it is the same hardware device as is sold in the U.S so it is compatible by definition) - it is probably the Apple activation policy that is wrong, from other posts in this thread.

But of course it is easy for the Apple rep to blame it on Sprint and get the issue off his back rather than bothering to change the activation policy.

Well, of course it is incompatible in practice unless Apple is willing to change the setting.

Quick question. My first month of service was feb 25 to March 26 of 2018. On my account it says my free year expires in April 30th 2019. That makes it more than one year of free service ?

Hi,

Right now I am on a PIxel 3 with the 3/2020 expiration plan. I am going to be getting an unlocked iPhone XR, I do have the sim card for the iPhone will it be a pain to switch phones?

For the bets buy Sim card, are you referring to the boost activation kit, or must we ask the cell phone sales rep for a specific sprint Sim card.

Also I read best buy sale them for $9.99, is $4.99 the new price?
I had IPhone 7Plus Phones / Switching from Verizon Service to Sprint. The Sprint Sim Cards needed for the IPhone 7Plus were sold to me by the rep at Best Buy they scanned for $4.99 each. I hope this helps.
