Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Multiple times, I was told by the Sprint CSR that if I try to swap devices in less than 120 days, the line will change to a paid line. Does this have truth to it? The wiki says device swaps are fine any time, only upgrades aren't. Is there a risk of having a device swap coded as an upgrade?

Anyone with experience swapping devices? I need to make two swaps. Thanks!
As other posters pointed out, I had no problems swapping devices. I did it via chat. Via a chatbot actually, no humans involved. It's easy and takes under 5 mins. All you need is the IMEI of the new device. Don't swap SIMs like I did and wasted an hour. Just follow the chatbot's instructions.

Told by whom?
Perhaps Chat? They know nothing about this offer.

Anyway, yes, you are eligible, but see the Wiki for how to sign up.
I called. They said my SSN is still in their system ( I had SERO). Then they tried to remove it. But after 40mins, they said I have to get someone else's SSN ... as I am not eligible.

Hi...

Has anyone managed to use a previously locked iPhone to get this deal?

I have an iPhone which will remain locked with MetroPCS for the next 5 months and I am considering the IMEI unlocking service from DoctorSIM.

Their reviews are very good and they are very professional, but I asked them and their answer seems to imply that, even if they unlock the phone's IMEI (at over $70), it can still be rejected on Sprint's online IMEI check, required before porting over.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Jim
It will work. I know few people that use unlocked Iphone 6s (original activation policy from Metropcs). If it is Iphone SE, after unlocking, it will still work. Unfortunately, it will NOT have band 41 for Sprint LTE.

Maybe a dumb question but can I switch between the Sprint sim and a Tello sim for the same phone? I want to keep my Tello # active and that requires using it (a text or phone call) once every 3 months, so I just want to make sure I'll be able to do that.

Using an iphone 7. Thanks in advance.
No. Tello uses Sprint. They activate by IMEI not by the Sim. More information in the wiki

I have an iPhone X from AT&T. I understand that this is GSM only and won't work on the CDMA bands (which I am OK with). Will Sprint allow me to activate this phone on their network? I know Verizon will.

If I sign up and activate one line on the free BYOD plan, what is the easiest way to add a 2nd (and 3rd) line after that? Can I go into a sprint store and ask for another SIM and have them just port the number into the account and the 2nd account will be free too? Or do I have to add the additional lines over the phone the same way I added the first line?

Finally got this working last night after being on chat for over an hour. Kept getting invalid sim card on on my Moto g6.

One quick question, data is pretty slow at my house but when I enable data roaming it speeds up pretty good. Any issues with using data roaming? Ill mainly be using wifi at home but when out and about, etc?

Anyways great deal, plan on adding my wifes iphone 7 as well.
Sprint now roam on t mobile in weak areas. And that usage does not count towards your allotment, so surf away. Review the wiki for more good information

Sadly, I did read it (3 times) and for some reason I wasn't 100% clear:

"They can be added all at once or u can add 1 line, see if u like service, and then add the others at a later time. Each line must be ported in and can be added by calling 866-782-8777 .
-Any additional line added will have the same terms (end date) as the original 1st line. (example: u created account in july 2018. 1 Y Free promo expires in july 2019. if u add a line in dec 2018, that line too expires in July 2019). Each and every number (first , 2nd or last) has to be ported in from a non sprint (or non sprint mvno) carrier."

I see that it CAN be added over the phone, but I wasn't sure if it HAD to be added over the phone. I know you have to open the account over the phone, but I wasn't sure that once it was open, could I just go into a store and get a new SIM and add it to my already established free account.

wiki will suggest best practices.
it also suggests AVOID going to store if possible.
trying to understand how to make wiki more clear.

also , the intent of this plan is "self-service" [u know what i mean]
main reason why they can keep it at $0.
so avoid store as much as possible.
many ways to get sim, which i am sure u have seen

edit: unless i am mistaken any additional lines HAVE TO BE ADDED via calling the special number

Right they just need to remove it from the system before it can be used again.

That particular sales rep had no patience and did not want to wait to sort out the details, that's all.

Assuming it is over 45 days since your SSN was used actively anywhere in Sprint, I would try one more time with TeleSales (get the person's name), and if they still strike out, call the Credit Dept direct at 1-800-639-6116 and ask them to remove your SSN from the old dormant account so that you can sign up.

I would Avoid going to a Sprint store completely. Only set foot in a corporate/repair store for a free sim or proof of identity. Non corporate store employees will feed tons of wrong information. I'm mobile right now Desi. Please change each line can be added by calling to MUST be added. Maybe that would clear things up for Chuck
