Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

You're 99% there. Going to a corporate store won't hurt anything at this point. And may be the quickest fix to your issue. I had to go to the store a few times to get this deal and each time they couldn't touch the plan (their words), but could fix/reset my pin number and activate new phone without any issues to my free byod plan. I've activated 2 new phones now in store to this plan.

So I dont look like an idiot if I go to the store, if this phone was locked to Boost, or another MVNO, it would not have been allowed to signup, correct?

The IMEI checker would have said something about unpaid bills or financially obligated, correct?

Model is MKVW2LL/A

So I was hit with two activation charges of $30 totalling $60. Now how do I refund these charges or get them back?
If you read the terms they should be credited back on next bill but I would use chat to be sure.

Ha honestly don't worry about what the store employees think. Just tell them IMEI system said it was fine when you signed up but you can't activate. They should be able to figure it out.

Found it:
Your $30 activation fee is waived as part of this promotion. The fee will appear on your first bill and a credit will appear within 2 bills.

That part number is Sprint 6s+ silver 64GB, so that is ok. If was previously on sprint mvno it wouldn't have passed checker. If was locked to Boost it should have flagged also.
I'll defer to comintel or macrokelvin if the other reset and port checking suggestions didn't work.

If you pre-pay, have zero or negative balance and autopay has nothing to charge, does this negate your $5/mo. autopay/e-bill credit? Or have any other negative effect on the plan? As some of you may know Verizon Fios is real picky about this.

Dont forget, as I do not think its been mentioned but you can definitely do a no credit check. Of course sprint would love to get your social for "needed purposes" on a BYOD account... but it prevents you from all future new customer offers (I assume via social). And unnecessary. Ask them to run your social as all 9's and it may have duplicate accounts come up (sharing the common 9s) but they can locate yours specifically and you can indeed get approved. If you encounter issues then its an uneducated rep, or a well trained rep and they try to minimize this scenario happening. Worst case go into a store, physically create a no credit check account with a rep and 9s for social despite what they may tell you. Get your account number and pin and promptly go home to call the 1 year free dept. They will use the account you created in store as long as nothing has been done or added or activated and its truly fresh. I then followed the guidelines to call for act fee to be waived as they completely refused online. Have all needed info ready and be personable. I encountered shockingly little resistance.
So wait, you only had to walk into a Sprint store and create an account without adding any line at all and no SSN? What exactly did you request when doing this?
I'm hoping to give this a try but I'm expecting sprint reps to refuse to do this unless I activate at least one line with them

Doing the steps you mention, the phone still says "iPhone not activated"

The phone does shows up in the sprint dashboard with the phone number.

Need a little help with a new line...

I talked my friend into signing up here... bought a used sprint iPhone 6s+. Cleared the IMEI checker. Got a T-mo number to transfer in. Signup went all good, phones show up in online account.

Phone will not activate or make calls... called sprint for help and they say the phones are locked. I asked if they were locked to another MVNO or similar and she said no. Made me think it was locked to a Sprint account. She told me to go the the corp store to see what they can do. But we all know to avoid that if possible.

If they were locked, why did they pass the IMEI checker and pass the signup?

What can I do at this point to get them unlocked if I dont know the details? Is there a specific dept to call to get them unattached from the other sprint account?
I would get the GSX report from EBay for $1 and see what locks it shows, if any. It might not show Sprint internal locks though.

Also check on the Ting and Swappa checkers.

Also try another rep to try to get more info about the lock. But if it is from another Sprint account they cannot give you private details of that account if you are not the listed owner. That would be a gross privacy violation. So they are told to be vague.

If it is locked, it is locked, and it might be easiest to just return it.

Same thing happened to me with an iPhone XS Max, everything approved by Sprint, supervisors swore it was activated on Sprint, dashboard showed it was activated, went to Apple store, surprise, phone was locked to Metro PCS! Either go to an Apple store to check and/or use new unused sim cards form Verizon, T Mobile, AT&T to check if locked and to which carrier.

If you are already on this plan can you buy your own compatible phone from outside of sprints website and upgrade your old phone.
