Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Yes you see you would have roamed to TMobile if it been an S8 for example, or many iPhones (assuming you have roaming enabled).

On the latter models, it will switch from Sprint to Tmo whenever necessary to preserve LTE.

That verifies that that model has gimped roaming for now. Hopefully to be fixed I am sure..........

Since you disabled LTE bands, you only get CDMA network. Surprised you don't get EVDO 3G which is still slow at about 1 mb. 1xRTT is even slower.

Yes but if it were certain other models it would roam to TMobile LTE the moment it loses Sprint LTE.
I see this every day on my S8+ in those cases in which it used to go to Sprint 3G.

In his case, I did also notice the lack of 3G fallback that you mention. That is another oddity. I suspect the PRL or its use is all messed up somehow. And it is not just him. Others with that model see the same oddity. No 3G, no TMo roaming.

Try chat or call to remove, should be painless.

Looking for some advice: I currently have an unlocked Samsung Galaxy S8 that is confirmed eligible for this free 1 year BYOD. At the same time I also have a friend at Sprint who can get me on the SWAC plan.

Are there specific reasons it would make sense to go with the $30 SWAC plan versus free service for one year?

SWAC has added hotspot+Hulu for 1 line for $30.
BUT this plan has 5 lines for less total cost. And there are hotspot workarounds for some Android users.

SWAC will continue beyond one year automatically . This plan will end its free status by default in one year (although some of us are going into our third year of it via workarounds).

They just type it into the Sprint computer like they do here.
It is not outsourced.

It is a Sprint office there and is supervised just as it is here.
It is not just for the free plan. It is for paid plans too.

Other carriers are the same.

Yes as long as it is still open.
Most sponsors only want to give "new customer" referrals so you might have to wait 45 days to free up your SSN, unless it is a personal friend who might convert the existing account. They have to sign for that, so most do not want to do existing customer conversions. They only get 5 conversions a year.. But you can use another family SSN or just wait 45 days.

I have an older Tmobile Iphone 7, that I asked Tmobile to unlock and they say is unlocked, and I was able to use with cricket sim, but sprint says I can't use with them. Anyway to figure out the issue? Just incompatible phone or some locking issue?
