Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

I'm on Google Fi and when I check the IMEI number it says "Sprint service already activated"
Yes that is normal. You will have to get it off Fi. Fi is a Sprint mvno.

Then it will go on fine.

See wiki for details - it covers Fi.

Using this BYOD plan, when moving sim card to a new phone, do I have to call/chat with Sprint? even if the new phone is a Sprint brand?

If I try it out with a google voice number and later decide I don't like the service, how do I cancel the account and service? Thank you

(1) Yes you do, to do any swap. It takes just a minute. You can start in your dashboard though as pointed out by lou2004, rather than call or Chat right away, and sometimes/eventually it will complete without invoking Chat.

In general you will usually need a a different sim card for a different phone anyway, so you do not normally go around moving sim cards between phones anyway. On Sprint, you activate a phone by IMEI, not a sim card. Most commonly you leave a sim card with a phone.

(2) Port out the number or call and cancel - either will work

Not sure if this is what you are referring to:

IMPORTANT: There is no fee for changing your number on sprint.com.

You can't choose a specific number.
A new number will be randomly assigned.
You can't change your phone number more than 3 times in 30 days.
Once your phone number has been changed, you may not be able to switch back to your current number; we cannot guarantee recovery of a phone number.
You will need to set up a new voicemail account, and all your saved voicemail messages will be lost.
Changing your phone number will remove block or allow lists associated with that number.
You will need to manually set up these lists for your new number.
You can't transfer a number from another service provider through this self-service process.

Please read the wiki for answers to many common questions

If Boost unlocked it, it should already be unlocked.

If they did not unlock it, probably you would not be able to use it on Sprint postpaid.

But if you do somehow manage to get it on without Boost having unlocked it, then yes, probably Sprint will be willing to unlock it after 50 days.
Thanks and repped. Actually I bought this as preowned , it initially was unable to be activated on Sprint until it was reskued. Now it passed the check and ready to use. I believe it is still locked to Boost/Sprint, BTW, even after Sprint reskued the phone, it still shows incompatible with Ting. I want to swap my Moto g5 plus with this and request unlock in a few days without waiting 50 days. Not sure if this is even possible? Thanks.

I bought one preowned 6s plus from Boost and currently activated on Sprint free plan after resku. Just check on Verizon , at&t BYOD , it looks like I can activate with them, does this mean this phone is already unlocked? How can I confirm the unlock status for sure? If unlocked already, there is no point for me to request unlock from Sprint. Hope someone could let me know. Thanks.

If you get an error, try checking it in Ting, then Tello, then https://www.sprint.com/en/shop/br...hop:030918

See if that adds it or what exact error you get.

I assume it is unlocked?

If you are not getting any errors, sure just call and sign up. You may want to check the Wiki re sim card needed etc.
Hi Comintel, I need your suggestion. I want to add one more line in BYOD plan. As Wiki said, I am looking for Lg G5 in eBay. Do I need to look for Unlocked version with CDMA or Sprint network?. My doubt here is if it is Sprint network mobile, Will I able to port in to Sprint without any issues?

I thought I read that there was a way to switch over without a credit pull but wiki doesn't seem to have this info. My eyes are going cross eyed looking for it, did I make it up in my head?

Cheapest would be used or new open box on the bay or swappa.
If you go that way you will want a Sprint version.
One that has not been on a Sprint mvno. If unsure get the IMEI number before you purchase it and check it on the Sprint BYOD checker.

The exception to that is the Galaxy S8 S8 Plus or Note 8. Those can be any carrier branded because once it's unlocked it will load the Sprint software when a Sim is installed.
