Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Hi SD, my family and I joined Sprint 3 days ago. However, the process hasn't gone quite to plan and I'd really like your help!

I told my dad about Sprint's unlimited plan that is free for 1 year and how I thought it'd be a great idea for us to switch over our family to Sprint. I had actually already called Sprint and begun the process of moving us over but needed to first get some SIM cards. My dad, however, thought to help expedite the process and wanted to be helpful in taking care of the transfer process. He went in to a retail store and ended up signing us up for he Unlimited Basic plan for $100 / month for 5 devices. Additionally, even though he said we wanted to bring our own devices, they somehow convinced him to lease 'temporary' phones but effectively sign up for new devices that we have to pay for over 18 months. English isn't his first language and I think he just didn't fully understand the situation.

Is there anything I can do now to fix this situation so that we can still take advantage of the promotion and also not have to pay for these new phones? We are more than happy to return them but the store representative opened the boxes already. This has been a frustrating process thus far and I'd really appreciate your help!

Port everything to an non Sprint tied company and start the process over by reading the wiki here and having someone sign up who has not had Sprint in their name in the past 45 days.

So is this from Wiki no longer true?

Tmobile Pre-paid - had success porting it. Your account number is your 1+your phone #. You must set your 4 digit pin if you haven't either by calling or dialing #8646
Sure, it is. The following is also true from the Wiki:

[online option (one users experience):
The last two times I have called, the CSR said the new system requires funding upon activation. Today, he told me that up front before taking any information. I had a lot of trouble understanding him, so hung up and used the online link. The $3 plan is a little buried, so make sure to click on PAYGO. Also note the account number on the confirmation page after you pay. The account number is different than the phone number or 1+ the phone number. The email I received did not have the account number, so I was glad I still had the confirmation page open.

No new sim needed, you can still use previous model sims that are compatible with the s10+.
See the link in the wiki post for the compatible sprint sim models for your phone.

because there was phone purchase involved, i would not do what is suggested below.
(depending on the details of the phone contract (phones [i assume there were more than 1]) things can get even more ugly.

Not sure if this has been previously mentioned but Kickstart has arrived again.
When I signed up on Saturday, the representative tried to put me on Kickstart by saying I'd get a much better deal this way. I had no idea what it was, but his description of it didn't convince me that it was.

Yes, it is no longer true. I was told by the rep that was the case on the old prepaid platform. Now, it has been migrated to a new prepaid platform called Rebellion in which the account number is not the same as your mobile number. Also, the rep was very adamant in not giving me the account number on the phone and said that it can only be sent via a text message. Since I had the digital SIM there was no way I could receive the text message. So, I called back again after some time, this time a different rep provided me with the account number.

This is a tough situation. Normally I would not recommend making use of Sprint 7-Day full refund policy but in this case it may be the only option.
Do you have all of the old phones you were using before? Do you have another family member with SS#?
If so, Port out of Sprint to another carrier ( non Sprint). Package up all the phones and return them. ( as said I dislike doing this).
Now start process again with. a different Account name and SS .
Good luck
Edit: Desi's idea regarding Marci may be your best bet. whatever you do, do it before the refund date is expired.

Just called Sprint's #, spoke to a sales rep. She set up my new account, ordered 2 SIMs waived the shipping, will arrive tomorrow. Plus, she will give me a call back tomorrow to help port the #s over. The entire process was fluid. Many thanks OP.

There is a 14-day satisfaction guarantee that covers all costs including both plans and phones BUT there may be a $45 per phone restocking fee especially if they have been opened. Have they been opened?

The sale could have been voided if you had returned them the same day.

What you want to do is ask for the restocking fee to be waived in view of the circumstances.

For goodness sake return them in person to the store Today. There is no question you can return them. You could have done that within 14 days in any event. What you may well need her help for is to try to get the restocking fee waived. Sometimes they will waive it. So I would suggest raise that explicitly with Marci if it has not been discussed already and do not just drift into it.

But I would return them first and argue about the restocking fee later if they apply it. Hopefully they will waive it right away. The sooner you return them, the better a case you have to waive the restocking fee, in my opinion.

I had the exact same situation with my G4 locked to Ringplus. You have to find that guy on Reddit with username I think was LiterallyUnlimited (do a search to double check) and he will flip the flag for you on the phone and then it's good to go on Sprint.
Thanks. I msged him 2 days ago in reddit but no response so far. Since Ringplus transferred their services to Ting, I emailed him for a ticket and their response is for me to open up an account with them. Yeah right.
