Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Could someone please let me know? My free plan is up on 04/30, when is the latest to port out/cancel without risking new plan charge happening? Thanks.
This is an unknown. They can pull the rug out any time. It could also be extended another year.
My end date is the same as yours. I have ported out my numbers and have about 30 days left.
My backup plan is to use a buddy's account to go back in if they cut off new sign ups.
That's not foolproof either because when they cut off new accounts they may well cut off adding lines to existing accounts.
Tldr: if you have alternate person with eligible SS just port lines out and back in on that account right away. That's the only way you're guaranteed to get another year.
Edit: Ha I misread your post. Should be 4/30 but just chat and ask Sprint

What sim card did you use for the s10? Tried my old s9 sim card and didn't work. Went to sprint and told me it was a special sim card they didn't carry.

Thanks and repped. I am kind of greedy and want to take full advantage of the free days. As I read from the thread that the next potential extension date is close, may be tomorrow. My current plan expires 04/30 and will use family member 's name to sign up for another year, ideally right after the extension, so we can have more time free, but risking the chance that they end the plan suddenly and leave us with nothing. According to some of the pros here, looks like the plan is expected to be going on before the merger completed. Thanks.

Slimy Sprint cancelled my account on 3/3/19! Chat said due to nonpayment but autopay charged my card on 3/1/19. I wonder if it is because I did not use it enough? Probably should have used it some.

Going to call dedicated number to try to get it reactivated!

just curious to know what you meant by " I wonder if it is because I did not use it enough? Probably should have used it some".

Are you saying you did not use the phone at all? no calls(incoming/outgoing) and no texting?

It is not a special sim.

You can buy the Sprint standard 4 in 1 sim kit.which costs $2.99

See
https://s4gru.com/forums/topic/78...ity-chart/

"The S10 uses the D sim card in the kit which is the 516TQ."

some companies will hold a number for a period of time, might want to ask Boost.

other than that Tello pay as you go is really inexpensive.
check the wiki - https://www.numberbarn.com/ might be another option - cost $2/month if I recollect

The "special sim card" for S10 and S10+ is a LIE! I have been told this by the store. Most of the in-store sprint employees know a damn thing about this 1 year free unlimited plan because they aren't making commission or extra money off it, so why would they incentivize it to you?

Listen to comintel, as this user was a major help for me activating my S10+ for the free 1 year unlimited.

It is the sim card that comes in the 4-1 pack with the letter D on the plastic card you punch it out of. You need to punch it out an additional two times to get to the nano size that fits the sim port on the s10/s10+

as wiki indicates:
preparation would have been to have all items before u ever call sprint.
1. phone number to port
i) all info from old carrier
2. sprint eligible phone
3. sim card for that phone

all done in one call

side note , for u sprint has lousy c service.
for me it is t m that has the same
jane doe hates comcast
billy bob cannot stand verzion

bottom line....countless people have taken advantage of this plan.
$ to donuts...overwhelming majority are quite happy
Other than having a SIM (my Apple store wouldn't give me one) I followed every direction was received confirmation from the rep I was getting the free plan. Ultimately, if they screw up it is a nightmare to fix.

I have called T-Mobile twice in the last week. I was instantly connected to a live person in Idaho both times. Sprint made me wait almost an hour to get to human. So you may think T-Mobile has lousy service, but every market study shows TMO have the best, and Sprint has the worst. I experienced that first hand.

10pg?

this thread has been around ~18 m +
some kind folks have been there since start
they have nice enough to combine their knowledge in the form of the wiki
there are quite a few pitfalls along the way.
the wiki suggests best practices to avoid them
of course there is no guarantee ...but if u read the wiki & still dont follow it

u get what u get.....and dont get upset

Yeah the stores do not sell the factory unlocked models, so do not have much occasion to know about the sims (Sprint models always come with the sim pre-installed).

Just to give credit where due, edog11 was the one to first correctly post the sim, on Feb 22, beating the whole world..
