Same here. I worked with a wonderful rep from the Philippines support group. She was almost too nice and caring. Very pleasant to talk with. So refreshing compared with my recent AT&T experience which I rate as dreadful. If Sprint service was as good as my rep today they would be #1.
True here as well. On 3rd year. Signed up 5 lines. Also helped sign up 3 other families. Piece o' Cake.
If everyone would take 7 minutes to read the wiki, most if not all the complaints would stop.
Sprint is somewhat handicapped because of their system of specific SIMs, inability to " hot swap" handsets, incompatibility with GSM. Overall the reps do a fine job.
Of course none of this matters if you're in a region with poor coverage.

All this. And also considering that one is getting free service for 13 months, I don't see why people would complain for little bit of inconvenience. I too am on my third BYOD. It's a piece of cake each time. I use Tmobile to port out. Also don't understand why people argue with reps who want to add sprint complete care. It's been mentioned time and again that a simple chat removes it. In 3 years sprint would have saved me more than $2k. I have no complaints with their coverage etc if I am only paying $5 a month for two lines.

In the first BYOD year I got nearly $300 in gift card from sprint referrals (back then BYOD plan was eligible). Got free WiFi router from them. Took advantage of the essential phone lease deal. Never thought sprint could be so profitable!

Yes it is.

See the Wiki (the third post in this thread) for a link to Eligible models and a link to the sims chart.so you can get the correct sim..
Ignore the lists in posts 1 and 2 which are out of date.

Anyone recommend where I can buy a new used iPhone before this expires? Or where can I port so that I can keep my number? Mine expires on May 22 and so does my little sister's

Get a preowned boost iPhone $99 for iPhone 6s 16gb or $130 for iPhone 6s Plus.. might get bigger than 16gb storage and it might be eligible out of the box or you might have to call and get Sprint to reSku. I've done this with two family members.

Account #
Thanks. It worked. While the wiki reminds people to write down the T-Mobile account number at the time of porting into T-Mobile, there are other places where it is mentioned that the relevant account number is 1+phone number (T-Mobile). The phone number did NOT work for me. The 10 digit account number worked. Hope this helps others who are porting from T-Mobile.

I am thinking of using the TMo BOGO offer going on at costco. I am on this free sprint plan with two numbers - one iphone6 & one 6s.

Can I port one of my sprint numbers to TMo for now and come back to the same account after two months when the phones are unlocked? One phone number will remain on the sprint account. Possible?

It remains to be clarified by Sprint whether you can add lines after the offer closes to new signups, possibly on April 4. We may not know until April 4 or later.

The safest route would be to keep two lines on Sprint across April 4 at least, so that you could swap the phones back on later instead of adding them if necessary. This might involve using a cheap placeholder phone.

Successfully ported from the 3-month $20 Mint Mobile plan to this free plan, with an AT&T iPhone SE (A1662). Had to call customer service to remove the Smartphone Protection Plan. Not sure if it is BS, but was told that the porting happens quickly if Protection Plan is added. Confirmed that there would be no additional charges for services outside of normal taxes on this line. Getting decent speeds than my AT&T Prepaid lines.

A little struggling dealing with the customer service over phone, but overall this was a smooth transfer, all within 1.5 hours once I got the SIM in hand.

Have ordered two more SIMs (AT&T iPhone SE & Verizon iPhone 8+) to move from AT&T Prepaid to this free plan, now that I am approved for up to 5 lines.

I'm on my 3rd yr and want to swap with the iPhone XR.

Will any unlocked iPhone purchased from the Apple store work with Sprint?

I have an Amex offer with AT&T, pay $175 get 100 back on 4 credit cards, so I was thinking of purchasing an iPhone at the Apple store, then have it financed through AT&T, then pay the iPhone and then move it to Sprint on my current free plan.

Anything I should watch out for?
Careful if the AMEX offers/cards are all under your name. Previously AMEX has been known to clawback multiple activations of same offer across different cards: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/am...ple-cards/

Been reading through the wiki and the numerous posts, its overwhelming since there is a lot of info. I appreciate the effort put in. I'm planning to use this on an iPhone Xs. And moving my primary TMobile line to eSim.
I'm aware of the confusion on TMobile esim for postpaid, I will manage that.

My questions are related to getting this plan. And I want to confirm if the info on some items in the Wiki are still valid.

1. I have a Google Voice number I signed up for a few days back. I see there is a $3.00 port out charge. (Which I can do once I have confirmation my plan will work)
2. Get a SIM for iPhone Xs from Apple Store (hopefully they will oblige, so I can save on SIM fees+shipping)
3. Call telesales at # 866-782-8777 to:
do the credit check and activate the plan,
port the # from Google Voice and
activate the SIM card
(thereby saving the $30 activation fee)

Does this sound good?

It's been almost a year since I did the deal, but I want to make sure I get it right since my parents still have two months or so left on the current BYOD promo. I was planning to do the following:

1) Port out my mom's current Sprint # to Google Voice or T-Mobile (she wants to keep the # probably)
2) Port the number back to Sprint for the BYOD
3) Sign up for the promo under mom's SSN (the current account holder is under my dad's SSN)

Let me know if I missed anything in my plan. Thanks!

For those that are Ting but on Sprint Network (not gsm), that are either new or transferring back to Sprint.
Make sure to switch to Ting GSM (new sim) before doing the BYOD plan again.
I had trouble before and now works.
