in the wiki where it says:
Pick up a $0.99 or $1 Net10 BYOD sim card kit (other MVNO's might also work) from amazon, walmart, bestbuy, etc. The t-mobile compatible sim works for the online port.

is this what it's talking about? will this work?

Is anyone else having trouble getting through to number? I keep getting disconnected after listening to messages for over five minutes.

Thanks
I have activated a H2O sim card yesterday night and I had a chat with rep now few mins ago to get account number and PIN number to port out and realse the number. she agreed and gave me details.
I bought the sim card in $30 promotion only. I did the same twice in this week. As usual they ask three numbers which you made calls or text
So it should be YMMV

This has to be the best deal I've ever seen posted on SD, definitely the one that's saved me the most money. We transferred from AT&T May last year, saving us at least $120/month. My wife and I decided, since the deal is ending soon, to prematurely port out of Sprint over to T-Mobile, and then back to Sprint so we can get the free service until 4/30/20. The port out to TMO cost us about $25 total, but totally worth it to only pay ~$12/month for our three lines for a full year! The phones were eligible for port in back to Sprint within 15 minutes or so, and doing it over the phone was painless (though it took some time, an hour or so). Kudos and thank you to all the contributors and those maintaining the wiki. We really appreciate it! We'll save around $1500/year with this deal!

I've been trying to return a airave to sprint so that I can port out and close my account but they keep sending me the wrong UPS slip (twice now - it's only for 2 pounds but the unit is 5 pounds). Does anyone know if I can get all phones ported out to t-mobile if I have hardware that needs to be returned?

Don't worry about the weight on the label. Generally whoever prints the label( in this case, Sprint) is responsible for additional charges if the box is bigger or heavier than expected. UPS will accept the package, no questions asked and then charge the difference to Sprint. You will not be responsible for those shipping charges.
This is from my experience with dozens of other retailers.

Marci emailed me back this morning, saying I should be receiving a call from someone on her team. Anyone know how long that usually takes? Has been around 7 hours since initial email back. I know, patience, just seeing the astronomical cost of the plan the porting rep put me on has me paranoid.

Word of Warning/Request for advice.

Ported out to Tmobile Prepay this morning, Signed up with new SSN. My wifes phone ported fine. My phone can make/receive calls, send text messages, but cannot receive text messages. Tech support has no advice.

Any one experience this issue. The only oddity I can think of is that this number originated with Google Voice 7-8 years ago. It had been with sprint since July, then with Tmobile for an hour or so this morning. I know SMS and Google Voice have some porting delays, but should this be a problem since the number has been with Sprint?

typically when a S rep tells u u will get a call back...99% of the time u will NOT

but, if Marci has said this , i thik u should.
not sure of time frame.

As noted by SiennaCaribou7271, you can ignore the 2 lb flat rate weight limit and just pack it yourself and slap on the label and give it to UPS..

That has been clarified many times.

When it is over the flat-rate limit, they just get billed by the actual weight, that's all.

If the Airave has its own number on your account, just port out that number to H2O to kill it instantly. That is what I do and it works fine to get it off your account faster. It is not going to be a major problem that it has lingered a bit on the account.

If you have a target nearby you can get H2O sim for $1. Online it shows $1.99 but target near me has $1 price and I have noticed it for the last 2 months. Get few extra for future use.

You can call her office too at (913) 323-3931. It's fine to so so. If someone says they will call and do not, I always call them. Calls can get missed or mis-dialed etc.

(You can cancel your plan for full refund within 14 days under Sprint's 14 day satisfaction guarantee anyway in the worst case.)

Some of the routing for a phone number goes by the original issuing carrier, not by the carrier it was last with, so yes, that can be a factor in the time to complete.

Google voice uses bandwidth.com and other small carriers, so yes, there can be delays.
