Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

So much truth to this. Wife and I were shocked when we moved from VZW. I knew it would be worse, but I figured it would be close. I was very wrong.

We have learned to live with it, but that 1% claim is a joke. I think I remember reading that it's based on a binary "signal/no signal" determination. There are lots of places that have some form of signal on Sprint (maybe 1 or 2 bars of 3G) but that just fail to load data while VZW pulls in 5 bars of 4G and has no issue. Of course, they both count as "signal" on whatever BS map Sprint pulled together for their 1% claim.
I believe their claims of coverage are tied to the populace which naturally has higher density in major metropolitan areas. One tower "covers" a few hundred thousand people even if it can't handle that volume but it allows them to claim they have coverage where 99% of people are. It's all just marketing BS.

True. Maybe I just got lucky or something? In any event, I'm happy.
Maybe they finally fixed that then. It was never really the intention to charge it and refund later. I think it just required a lot of software work to fix it.

And my wife is back to Sprint for year 2. We ported her out for ~2.5 months of Mint, which was fine, but free is better (and we like the Int'l Roaming, even if it is slow). I'll miss this once they finally can it.

Anyone please , how can I find from my account that I don't have extra added, such as device protection plan etc. ? Thanks.
Device Protection would be listed under "My Sprint"->"Change Services"

I had to have them remove it. Urgh.

Well the person was incompetent but the place to sort it out is here anyway, not with clueless sales reps.

Actually the explanation given is correct. Google did not give the IMEI's to Sprint (they were "Verizon exclusives"). That is a Google/Verizon gambit to limit competition by making it hard to move them.

But they can be added.

Try running them in the Ting checker https://ting.com/byod/

That should hopefully add them to the Sprint database and then you may be fine.

Check afterward at
https://www.sprint.com/en/shop/br...hop:030918 [sprint.com]

to see.

There are other ways of adding them if not.
I just checked my verizon pixel 3 on the BYOD one year free link, it shows eligible.

Does anyone know if it's possible to add mobile hotspot even at a fair additional cost?

Very good - thanks!

There were problems for some people at one time, I guess not all, but I think they fixed it so that they get added automatically when you run them through the checker now, either the Ting one or the Sprint one, as needed.

I am sure we would have been able to resolve it for the poster today and I suspect, as you say, that it might already not be a problem if he just checked it once or twice in a couple of checkers.

But I think he gave up already.

Oh well......

If you're talking about me I did put my IMEI in both ting & then Sprint as instructed. Of course it came back as compatible exactly as I tried explaining to the Sprint rep multiple times. I'm tempted to go through with it online but if we have any problems in the future (it is Sprint after all) we'd be talking to "Jen" or one of her buddies only this time we'd be dependent on them resolving the problem. Not sure I want to sign up for that.

Not to mention the difference in coverage.

Oh I see! Well that's good in that respect then. As you say, there is no reason it cannot be activated then.

I think if you just called back and got a different rep you would be ok too. That rep obviously was severely mixed up from the start asking about your Sprint account.

However those are not the reps that you would be talking to later. They are just sales reps in the Philippines that handle incoming calls about offers.

But you are bitter and sarcastic about Sprint now ("it is Sprint after all") so I guess you are sticking with VZW and I will not twist your arm otherwise. Sprint is not and never pretended to be the equal of Verizon. It is much lower cost, and easily good enough for many, including me, but not for all.

I doubt Verizon is any better.

Not possible with this plan. I called and asked, they said my bill for something with hotspot activated would be like 80 a month. I laughed and hung up. So I don't have a hotspot, but I do pay less than 4 dollars a month for my unlimited everything phone bill. There are stand alone hotspots out there you can get for like $20 a month for a few GB.

I have read your laments Sir. Conclusion is:
You are far too good for Sprint. We are all fortunate that you've blessed us with your presence.
So... you travel from Long Island to Boca, got a BOGO pixel 3 deal and an inexperienced Sprint rep.
Poor Little Lord Fauntleroy.
No, you're not Sprints dream Customer Prince
Take your whiny a$$ back to Verizon

I know I have/had an eligible phone (LG X Charge), but right now service is with Tello. Should I port back to T Mobile SIM and then back to Sprint? TIA!
