Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

I can say with certainty that GV does in fact work just fine on Sprint. I've been using GV as my primary number that I give everyone. That way no matter what phone I'm on or which cellular provider I use I still get and send calls and texts with the same GV number. I never ported it anywhere, I just use the GV app and Hangouts Dialer and it just works. Of course as with most things YMMV.
Right - what I meant earlier about porting is that if the person has already ported their primary number to Sprint, as people here have in general, they would have to turn around and port it back out to GV for the best GV setup. This would involve a new number from somewhere else being ported in as well and some gymnastics with a temporary line as well.. You and I understand all this, but most casual users are unable to understand and would be confused as to how to do it in the case where their main number is already set up on this plan.

If all they want to do is make international calls, as is my case also at the moment, I think that, for *most* [people here, Hangouts is an easier and better solution that does not require porting numbers around, as it would if they are starting from already having their main line active here as.the starting point.

But beyond that, agreed, Google Voice is more powerful and flexible.

Question: When I port back-in to Sprint...

Can I use MY name (or maybe just use my initials), even if I am using a family member's Social Security #?

Or does the name I use to re-join have to match the new Social Security #?

And if the name has to match the SS#, is this just to create/get access to the new BYOD 1 Year Free plan? Can I change the name on the account later?

Thanks!

Why would you want to create ambiguity? If the family member's SSN is on the account, they should have agreed to have their name on it too for the full year.

Otherwise you are setting yourself up as the fall guy, potentially even at risk with the law, should you ever have a family falling out and they claim the account was unauthorized, because the account will look "suspicious". Family members do file fraud claims against other family members all the time.

If it is authorized, I would leave that person's name on there. If not, I would look at other options.

I would think (without having actually tried it) that you can set the autopay to your own bank or credit card account after adding his name as an authorized user on your bank or credit account.. Isn't that all you need? There is nothing improper about paying someone else's bill.

As to what you can get away with, probably a lot, but you would be building on quicksand in my opinion.

MAYBE you could do a transfer of liability to switch the account to your name later on, but I am not sure of that. You could ask on reddit r.sprint if nobody here knows.

A long shot you could TRY in the final day or two of this plan being open for signing up is to ask Sprint if they might open a new account for you under your own SSN even though the 45 days are not up, since the offer is closing.

Thanks! Followed your instructions and activated two AT&T Samsung Galaxy S10. Woot! Woot!
How did you generate those t-mobile sim numbers? Can I reuse them and do they expire?
I need another one for my sister if they can't be reused. Thanks hug
You can reuse them. They expire after 365 days of no activity. I sent you two more free SIM ICCIDs just in case. Good luck.

I have a sprint unlocked IPhone 6s Plus( unlocked by sprint after 50 days usage).
If I perform factory reset, will that be remain unlocked after restore? Did not find the exact answer in google..
It will remain unlocked. The activation/unlock policy is stored on the Apple servers and on an encrypted profile on the iPhone. They will sync/update with each other whenever the iPhone is connected to the Apple servers.

So, the H20 free month trial offer ends today, March 31?
If so, can we not use H20 SIM purchased tomorrow to port out without spending extra to buy some H20 service?

I ported some numbers using email received digital sim card numbers, and T-Mobile will not give me my account numbers because they can't send a text message to the phones.
This seems to be a snag a lot of people keep hitting. I've been selling T-Mo ICCIDs on eBay* primarily for people to get discounted Boost / Cricket phones, and it got me thinking: T-Mobile gives you the account number immediately when you do a $3 PayGo activation with a new number, so why not activate with a new number and then call T-Mobile customer support to port-in after the fact? According to this T-Mobile forum thread [t-mobile.com], it should be possible. Anyone willing to take one for the team and try it?

* I'm undercutting the "big guys" ($3.50 and up to 24 hours to deliver? vomit How about $1.99 and 6 minutes or less!) by using a custom vb.net app I wrote, to process the orders automatically. I don't need to make huge profits when all the work is being handled by an Intel NUC in my living room.

chances are they will ask for a verification code sent via text before they access your account for porting.

Thanks to all the messages and the Wiki on here. Wife and I have swapped the primary account holder, so our family is starting its second year of free Sprint service!

I am thinking about adding an extra line on the account. I don't need it right now, but will probably be using it in a few months when a family member from Canada is moving to the US for an internship. Since this deal is potentially disappearing in a few days (so I can't eBay a cheap phone), does anyone have suggestions for an in-store cheap phone that I can activate on another carrier at a B&M location, and then port over to Sprint?

Ting Probably not, Check the wiki tho. Also for Sim card try best buy or Target, they sell the Boost Mobile SIM cards which is the same as Sprint. You can also reuse old SIM cards so maybe you have a friend with a old one?
