DO THIS NOW, DON'T WAIT FOR SPRINT TO EXTEND THE OFFER! However, my phone rep with Sprint said the same thing. When I said "Let's get this done before this offer expires on 4/4" she laughed and said that was not the date the offer will end. I asked when it was really going to end and she was non-committal and said probably in a few months.
Well I ported out 18 days ago. I don't have anyone I can convince to sign up so I have to wait. I did call Sprint on Friday asking if there was anyway possible she could sign me up again even though I wasn't new according to the 45 days rule. She was very nice and actually spent 45 minutes talking to her supervisor and attempting several different ways to be able to do that including trying to put me through using no credit check way. i did gently suggest asking the credit dept. to suspend my account and start fresh but she said that it wouldn't work. Anyway, she really tried hard for 45 minutes but could not get the system to sign me up as a new customer. She even took down my # and said she would try the next 2 days again and would call me if that worked. Haven't heard from her so I assume she was unsuccessful. I know I could try another rep but I just look at it as it wasn't meant to be but if the offer gets extended, then I am in the money. It actually would be better for me as I would get 2 more months as I am on a 3 month Mint Sim plan that I had laying around since mid-December and just activated by porting my Sprint # there 18 days ago.

It may not meet your needs, but this plan includes free international text and lower speed data. Good enough for regular browsing, not good enough for video.

If I am traveling can I take out Sprint SIM temporarily and put foreign GSM SIM on my unlocked IPhone XR and would it work with foreign SIM? Any impact on my Sprint plan due to this? To come back to Sprint, Just put back Sprint SIM and restart?

Yes you can do that no problem.
Sprint will even do International Unlocks where needed to support that.
Best do International Chat to confirm you are all set.

However if you put in a foreign sim, you might need to leave it there until you got back into the US in certain cases because the phone might have trouble reconnecting to Sprint while you are outside the U.S.
Thanks

SlickDeals Editor, Andrew Chen, who is the author of the original article, very kindly checked today at my request and replied:

Hi comintel,

I've confirmed with a few very reliable sources that the Sprint offer is not being extended past the beginning of April. I'm not certain if 4/4 is the actual drop-dead date, as no one else has given any specific dates, but that's probably a safe target for anyone looking to jump on this deal.

Hope this helps!
He said I could quote him.

My own observation (not his) is that the 4/4 date seems to have come to SlickDeals via another route independently and I would not count on it changing at all.

You can check the number alone here:

https://www.sprint.com/en/my-spri...check.html [sprint.com]

If it cannot be used, you can get a number for port on EBay to use instead for under $10.

It is best to check the correct sim in the chart linked to in the Wiki (the third post in this thread).
Thanks comintel, just tried to use the link to check the Google Voice number eligible, yes, it said Inegibile.. thanks again.

Yes i read the sim chart linked in the wiki, but a little confuse.

I checked the sim chart that:
Iphone X or 8 BOYD Part # is SIMOLW416Q, Primary UICC is CZ2124LWQ and Primary Part is SIMGLW426Q

Note 8 BOYD Part # is SIMOLW416Q, Primary UICC is CZ4114LWQ and Primary Part is SIMOLW416Q

Since Iphone X or 8 has the same Part # as Note 8; so getting sim card from Apple store for Iphone X or 8 will be okay? Even though the Primary UICC and Primary Part is different?

Thanks again!

It does not sound to me that the rep you spoke to, or the supervisor, tried the right thing.

I would suggest calling the Sprint Credit Department direct at 800-639-6116 and asking them if they will do it. (What they do is temporarily suspend the old accounts - once this is done you can call the number ending in 8777 and the issue no longer show up).

SlickDeals has checked and the offer will not be extended beyond early April (see my other post)..

I just successfully ported out from Sprint to Tmobile using virtual SIM purchased on Ebay. It took about 20 minutes to go through.

Yes you are correct - you can use the Apple-provided Sim for the Note 8 in that case! People do that quite often - Desi has suggested that. Primary Part/ BYOD part just is for manufacturing/distribution/inventory labeling and you can use either.

It is nice to see someone (you in this case) go the original sources and figure out that busy chart.

Hello,
Thanks for your reply.
In regards to your request for a phone or account number, I am unable to provide that information to you because neither an account nor a phone number was able to be established with Sprint, despite our arduous and repeated attempts to do so. That is the very purpose of our appeal you you; to ESTABLISH an account and phone number with Sprint!
However, you will se in my prior email that I provided you with the only information I have, Sprint Credit Application # (application #) for (relative), (relative's address).
You can call me at (my phone number).

CAUTION: This email originated from outside of the organization. Do not click links or open attachments unless you recognize the sender and know the content is safe.
Dear Marci,
Attempting to assist my 80-year-old (relative) for 1 year free plan. After 3 disconnects by Sprint reps, and literally 2.5 hours on phone, (relative) "failed" security questions twice, despite having undoubtedly answered all correctly, and further that I was on phone line assisting (relative) to ensure accurate answers. Spoke to credit department, 3 levels of supervisors culminating with Dennis, employee ID# LK717342, who informed the only option is waiting 60 days to reapply. (Obviously not viable solution because BYOP 1 YEAR free offer expires April 4, in 3 days). Awaiting call back from Dennis' supervisor "Flora" (4th level of supervisor in credit department?), but likely I'll never receive call, and again, time is short. I offered to have my (relative) go to corporate Sprint store location with identifying documentation, but Dennis declined. My (relative's) consumer credit rating is stellar. EXTREMELY disappointing, time-consuming, and frustratingly poor customer service, from start to finish ; I don't see how you couldn't agree.
Please assist IMMEDIATELY in establishing service for my mother. Credit application # (credit appliucation #), (relative's name), (relative's address)
Thanks,
(me)

Thanks,
I think they misunderstood.
Try calling her/them at (913) 323-3931.
Phone may be the best way to explain it to them.
I would keep it simple and ask to be allowed to bring ID to a store instead or for a different Identity Quiz..

Does anyone have an updated link for the 4 in 1 sim kit at sprint.com? I have seen 2 different links posted here in the past 3-4 months and have both bookmarked. As of now neither link goes to the sim kit but instead links to the front of the store. I have searched and can only find the 3 in 1 kit at sprint.com, and I know for sure that the other 2 links did in fact link to the 4 in 1 kit. I am in need of a sim kit by April 4th if possible to put an iPhone on our plan for our daughter (or sign her up for her own plan). Just in case the promo is not extended again.

EDIT TO ADD: There is no corporate store near here and the 2 stores in town will not sell or give out sim cards - PERIOD. Been there and tried 2 times.

It says 3-in-one in the text but hodaddy (and I also) researched it and they actually ship the 4 in one kit.

Also for iPhones you can get sims free at most Apple stores.

Yes, the chart indeed is very busy but full of information.
I think it is my own job to read it (wiki and others ppl post/comments) first and try to understand myself first..
but without the expertise and knowledeable like you and others, we wont get more help on that.
I will run to Apple store to get the iphone x/8 sim card and do the port in with Sprint.

One other question i want to verify that if i use my note 8 to port to sprint; after activated with sprint, will my note 8 lock to Sprint? (I read some posts ppl said it shouldn't);
so if that's the case, can i take the sprint sim out, and put back my other TMO sim (my other sim postpaid account from work) and continue to use the note 8 phone.

(becoz with all the phones i had with me now, only this note 8 imei work with this sprint boyd; but i have another Iphone XR which is locked to TMO until 40 days later i am able to unlock it; and my plan is to use the unlocked Iphone XR with this Sprint BYOD (will call to do phones 'swap' at that time)

Thanks again!
