Wait, hang on. How does that make any sense?

My free plan ends on 4/30, with the $60 unlimited plan beginning May 1. You're saying that if I port out BEFORE May 10 (my billing cycle), I would get charged $0?

What about my service cost from May 1-May 9? Don't I have to pay for that?
The service cost for April 10-May 9 is at free rate. Service cost for May10-June9 would be $60. May 10 was just an example since everyone's bill cycle dates are different depending what day of month you signed up. The 4/30 end date represents any new bill cycle starting after 4/30 gets new rate.

Over an hours and got it done. I just got confirmation that it's possible to brings line over, she mentioned "for you to get the right information". She also said that the promotion is actually ended at 12, but as I was on the queue she will put a note on the account. Gonna deal with the Porting dept to get my FP num transferred over.

I very much hope the reps are mistaken.

I have not tried "out-of-the-country" coverage on this newest plan.
However I can confirm that the previous plan (with the 50GB Hotspot) was free text and free
low speed data in both Canada and Mexico.
My son is in Japan with his phone and was getting those same services there.
He later added the JAPAN PLAN for $5/mo. to get high speed data.

Yep, I can confirm last week in Australia, I had text and very low speed data working on my basic free Sprint plan. The data speed was close to unusable. But it did work. And texts worked fine. This is for a phone I had just setup on the free Sprint plan a few weeks ago. So I think anyone travelling to most countries, if the person only needs texts and basic data, they will not have to sign up for any other service add-on.

One thing I recall, I had to enable data roaming in Australia, to get the mobile data to work. And then on the mobile data icon in Android, it showed Telstra, which is the Australian phone service.

This is great information, thanks! That means I won't need to rush into anything and change my plan to a lesser plan before I port out. Also gives me about an extra week or so to see if Mint Mobile will have another promo. I should've scooped up that 3 months for $20 deal from February!

Do I need to talk to a Sprint rep if I'm adding a 2nd line, or is there a way to do it via My Account? When I click the link from SD it says not eligible and only for new customers.

You cannot do it from MyAccount or via the signup link..

Calling in to the 8777 number works fine and Chat may work.

This is prepaid plan, so anything we didn't sign up but it work and we can assume it come with the plan and no surprise charge?

It is right on the plan description at https://www.sprint.com/en/shop/of...:1yearfree
(Best screen print because the pages may be gone soon).

But do not worry, Global Roaming is included free with ALL Sprint plans. It is the base level. Higher cost plans have still better benefits (free 3G in some countries etc)..

Do International Chat and they will confirm.

This is not a prepaid plan, it is a postpaid plan that's why Sprint do a credit check when you apply

How does your account number look like? Is it similar to your phone number?

Bummer, but thanks for the info. The user's phone is out of the country, and they return on the day that the new plan takes effect. Looks like I will be stuck with an additional month on Sprint and a $60+tax bill.

Do you know if it is possible to downgrade plans instead of the $60 unlimited into something else? I could downgrade to a cheaper plan and keep that for a month until I figure out where to port to (probably Mint).
you can try to pause the service/line if you can.
