I put in a request last week and finally today they placed my account for cancellation on the last day of the billing cycle. Should I call back the same number I used to put in the cancellation requestion (retentions) for deals or that number on the webpage you've linked? I'm trying to do what ringplusthrottle did to some extent.
Retentions will not give this deal, although I suppose you could try for any retention deals they have.

For this recovery deal, you would have to call the number on the page I posted as far as I know.

However, in full candor, it remains to be seen if the way ringplusthrottle did it has been verified as working out well. Do not get me wrong, it was great of ringplusthrottle to try it and share it, and we all appreciate it. However, personally, I am not sure it will be possible to use the service credits that way. What good are they if you can "keep" them but they cannot be applied to anything beyond administrative fees? Let's say there is 50/50 chance you might be able to do do. Why take the risk when if you just do it the straightforward way (port out first) there is no doubt and you can use their full value in a new plan?

Reading back on it, it's pretty confusing what he did. I can't tell if he was in the same situation as me (plan expiring this month) or if he's on a byod plan until 2020, but requested cancellation to save up reactivation credit for use after his plan expires in 2020.

ringplusthrottle said "which won't be for another couple months" so I think that's when ringplusthrottle's plan ends.

But after the plan expires in say a couple of months, by default it would switch to $70 for the first line. Even with saved up credits, *if* you can even do that, that would still be very expensive. Plus Sprint is usually very strict with service credits and they have to be used on the same numbers they were earned for. It could be fiendishly complex if it even worked out at all. Now it is true the administrative fees would be credited in the meantime and that is a few dollars I guess.

What ringplusthrottle was actually trying to duplicate was what a different user said they accomplished, which was to get the free plan extended. But that was never expected other than what that one user said they accomplished, was never offered by Sprint, and did not happen for ringplusthrottle. Again, I am glad and appreciative that ringplusthrottle tried. That having failed, ringplusthrottle is now just making the best possible of it, that's all.

People have mis-interpreted and are making too much of it. It is fundamentally something that did not work out as hoped.

The offer as fine as is. It does not need obscure potential exploits

Just port out to Fi or to anyone else. That is the easiest way to end it. There is no ETF or other charge of any kind unless you bought a phone from Sprint.
Thank you!

Guys. How long does it take to port from Sprint to Red Pocket? I ported out yesterday but haven't received any email from Red pocket yet. I used the same Sprint SIM card. TiA
I ported from Sprint to Red Pocket a couple days ago. It took about 30 mins. It was not instant.

finally my port in port out game completed and I got $500 total credit added to my account for bringing back 2 lines I ported out. they put me in $30 plan with unlimited talk and text but only 2GB LTE data. Approximately 8 months of free service with more cautious on data usage.

Red Pocket uses 4 different carriers.

Which one did you port to? The ports are actually done to the underlying carrier, and so will be different.

If you are going Sprint to Red Pocket Sprint, for example, it is not a true port but rather an accounting bookkeeping adjustment made by Sprint.

Thanks.

Thanks - I would say my ports to/from AT&T MVNO's, including one with Red Pocket, have been very good but not instantaneous either. In my case in a port in to Sprint from Red Pocket, I recall Sprint called Red Pocket to expedite it. I have not done a port out to Red Pocket.

slightly off here...
i am wanting to move a single sprint iphone off by replacing it with a new iphone soon. the current phone is locked to sprint.
i called for a sim domectic unlock and they said yes.
it didn't go through and is still locked because the phone wont accept a t-mobile, verizon, or at&t sim. yes the iphone is capable of t-mobile or GSM sims.
i called again and they said ok again. nothing again.
i called again and now they say it is complete unlocked already and if they ask for another unlock it will only lock the device.

i called apple and they say the device is "unlocked, with sprint Blocked Policy"
does that mean Apple says its unlocked internationally but still locked domestic?

who can i call at sprint to fix this?, because when i call and ask for a supervisor to help, they say they can do it and i don't need a supervisor for this.

I am not sure who you called or got put though to but Unlocks are handled by Account Services at 844-382-3317 if you have not spoken to them yet.

Ok 844-382-3317 is Retentions so they gave you a Retention Offer.

But is your free plan expiring? If so, what will the 4 lines cost? Did they tell you?

You can get a $250 per line credit if you port out FIRST and take a Recovery offer instead. BUT you could not get the 5 lines for $100 offer with that.

Deals before leaving are RETENTION. Deals after leaving are RECOVERY.

There is also Kickstart at $25 a month.

See recent posts and https://www.sprint.com/en/landing...print.html

You will have to compare the arithmetic and the better AT&T speeds but lower data amounts on AT&T.

I had been calling *2 from the phone and speaking "SIM UNLOCK" at the prompt.

I just called the number you posted and gave the phone info again to the guy. He didn't say anything about previous attempts. I confirmed he said it was for domestic and international unlock request.

Thanks for the continued help here. I hope this gets it done this time.
