Just for people's info, some people were turned down for the Master Card $200 offer, so I would not count on it:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Sprint/c...dding_new/

Also according to some comments there, you may have to be invited after all. What constitutes an invitation? Probably an ad on your account. I do see an ad for this offer all the time in my free account.

Unfortunately (for some) I am beginning to suspect it may work for adding a line to the free account (my registration is still being processed) but not necessarily for KickStart.

Edit nevermind the Visa was removed and it excluded prepaid reward cards in terms.

The free plan did exclude VISA prepaid reward cards in terms but you may have a case since this is a MasterCard prepaid card, fingers crossed.
Oh that's right - I had forgotten that!
They did show this MC offer on my account pages.
I do not mind if I do not qualify - I just feel I should apply for anything I may qualify for. Sometimes the only way to find out is to apply.

There was a post on reddit originally that this latest MC offer could, exceptionally, be combined with other promotions. So maybe that overrides what the other promotion (in this case the Free Plan) says. I sort of get that impression.

I submitted also. I rechecked terms(webpage archive) for free plan ending 4/30/20 and the Visa was removed and so said prepaid reward cards unfortunately.

OK, so that says they did not intend those offers to be eligible originally. But they could have changed their minds since they definitely displayed the ad for the most recent $200 promotion in my account. The programming would not normally display an offer for which the account was not eligible. Well time will tell.....

Does anyone knows if I could cancel the account online? I really don't want to be onhold and talk to the sprint rep. I have 3 lines and only need to port out one line. Thanks.

You do not need to cancel in that case.
Just port out the number and that will automatically cancel the line in question.
The pin to use is just your normal account pin.

I'm trying to port P2 number to kickstart and hang up on credit check step. It says that associate has to verify info, but nothing happens. Any ideas how to solve this?
So the problem with credit check was that ssn was tied to account that became closed when number was ported out. Had to call to sprint credit dept 1 800 639 6116 *2 *2, they reopened account and after that I completed port in to kickstart online. Lady told me that ssn is released from closed account after 45 days. Until then you'd get credit check error. So reopen account was the only option.

That's good.

That happens all the time. Usually if you call in, they just suspend the old account by transferring you to credit department as needed (which is frequently needed anyway). I think people in that situation who try to do it online always have that extra step.

By the way, usually Sprint never actually gets around to freeing up the SSN from the old account until an issue comes up, even long after 45 days, so anyone who ever had a Sprint account before tends to run into that if they try to do it online. Which is one reason most of us do all activations by phone as mentioned in the Wiki.

Can we still add a free line or not? A little confused with all the kickstart talk.

I have a free account that ends in September. 2 lines. I have another with 1 line that ends in April next year. Wanted to move those 2 lines to the account that ends in April.

Just wondering the best way to go about it.

If I port out of Sprint during the mid of billing cycle, will I be charged for the plan prorated or full? Can someone please advise?

Now that I think about it, edog11 is right.

I think he is saying waiting will do no good and I agree with him on further thought.

Do you have another Sprint compatible phone you can swap on to Tello? Swaps are free on Tello.

I do not know if the phone number might still be another problem or not. But it would be a separate problem if it is. I think it might be ok if separated off from the phone because Kickstart (unlike the Free Plan) does not require a port from another carrier.

Once the phone's IMEI is off the Sprint network, the various checkers will instantly be able to flip the MVNO flag to allow it to go back onto Sprint postpaid.
I got onto the Kickstart plan finally, After transferring to Tello the phone wasn't eligible even after waiting 2 days it still came up a message that the phone is currently on sprint service, so I transferred it to different device on Tello and the only way I was eligible is to activate was to first get a temporary phone number on the original device form sprint and then I called in on today Monday the port in depot to change back to my old number and now I'm good,

As I understand the best way is to order a T-Mobile sim a week or so before and port it to T-mobile for the cheapest plan or go to a T-mobile store and then call sprint to activate Kickstart plan and then it will be changed more smoothly,

Thanks all for your help,

just added another line this evening. added 3 lines total this past week. i used tracfone byop $1 with $25 e gift card from amazon. if you use an unlocked phone that is eligible on Tracfone and activate on their $15 smartphone plan, and stay with them for a day or so you wil net $9. then you can port your number back to Sprint.

Try for no charge at all if your free plan ended in the middle of the cycle.

Most have gotten that.

Otherwise, probably it would be the full amount, not pro-rated, unless you can make a special case.
