Yes you can. You were pre-approved to add up to 5 lines "at any time". If you read recent posts you will see a post by one poster who added 3 or 4 lines in a row recently.

BUT you need to call the number ending in 8777 and tell them you are adding more free lines, not ask them if you can! If you ask them if you can, that sometimes makes you look like a mark to be told no and sold KickStart instead. So be assertive!

Of course you have to port in numbers from a non-Sprint carrier as always.
Thank you very much

A couple of other posters got that (one year extension) so it does exist (at Sprint's discretion).

One poster did get it confirmed (you can get another Retentions rep to read the notes on your account to confirm it) but it ended up being entered wrong which had to be fixed. So you will just need to monitor it closely, that's all, I think.

By the way, the reason they have Unlock Requests and Retentions grouped together in one department that has no other responsibilities is so that they can try to intercept people intending to leave when they call in to do unlocks.
Curiouser. The txt chat rep got me thinking it was a "miscommunication". Looking back at the chat transcript, I'm inclined to believe I heard it right the first time.

Chat Rep: I was just looking up notes on your account which mention that the team over the phone extended the offer by one year.

... later ... after more research ...

Chat Rep: The information they have selected as being shared to you is that once you have passed 4 months from when you signed up for the BYOD 1 yr free plan, you would be eligible to upgrade and still enjoy free service for the remainder of the free year. ((The unlock rep never used that language.))

Chat Rep: There is notation regarding the free plan being extended beyond the 1 year and there has never been any offer from Sprint under which it is extended after the 1 year.

Chat Rep: I apologize if the caused you any confusion and were not clear in communicating upgrade eligibility for your plan.

So it sounds like I was given the extension. Hopefully this 2nd rep didn't override and cancel it, just because she never heard of it happening before.

Sure - chat reps are unreliable and not well informed so often they have not heard of things.

If you want to reconfirm more accurately another time I would call Retentions at 844-382-3317. I always suggest people deal with Retentions and not Chat.

I will be calling Retentions in a couple days. I wasn't seeking an extension, but if the Team legitimately gave it to me, I won't sit back and let some other wanker take it away from me. I'd much rather continue my current arrangement with Sprint, then port out to Mint or whatever else comes close to it. I didn't even ask for the Chat. It simply popped up on the expired BYOD page I browsed, so i asked what's going on.

Thanks for your help, comintel.

I thought no at first but just got the following reply from Sprint:

https://community.sprint.com/t5/U...5118#M3586

"Yes this is live promotion currently."

If this is true, hopefully it will be for a full year and not just to 4/20. I have asked about the inconsistency.

I have to change my reaction as I just got the following reply from Sprint at

https://community.sprint.com/t5/U...5118#M3586

"Yes this is live promotion currently. "

So it appears it may in fact be live again after all. I am sorry I reacted too quickly.

So maybe they have gotten so desperate for customers that they have re-opened the free plan.

If someone is able to sign up, please post.

I'm guessing the new free plan would be for new users, like me.

As posted by jjtricket and monkeybiz, you would need either a new SSN or to be off Sprint for 45 days.

However hopefully we will get confirmation soon that it is for a full year.
