Its $3 plus 10$ sim card. You have to go to tmobile store to do this. It will be ultra mobile.
Will the $10 SIM card provided by T-Mobile work with Sprint ? OR Do we have to use the current Sprint SIM card that we have been using for the past year ?

10$ is not so much if you had one year of free service from previous year. Its not as easy as it used to be to do online. That was the procedure before but it has changed. Whenever you call now they will direct you to the store. For the effort of calling for an hour or so to find the person to do it for $3 and just to save 10$ it much easier to do it at the store and it only takes 15 minutes. I tried calling for an hour with a lot of transfer and holds only to be told to go to store. That was after one hour.
great summary and on point.

too many times folks fix on what happened in past and try to re create ..well it is too late today..so today take what is there , even if it means paying more...

I tried porting out to T-mobile using $3 paygo ultramobile plan and they still want me to pay for one of their monthly plans. If I do that, will it be pro-rated, if I port back to Sprint the same day?

thanks

If I activate the sim card online or in the store, do I still call T-mobile and ask them to port the numbers from Sprint? Or does the store/online activation takes care of that? When trying to activate the sim card online on Ultramobile site, it asks for the account number and PIN from the current carrier. So, that should take care of porting out of Sprint, no?

Go to the store and they will take care of everything for you. Tell them you want the 3$ pay as you go plan. You will have to pay $13.01fee for service and sim card. Then once activated your service will only have $3 balance. You will need your sprint account and pin number to port to ultramobile. If they ask you for money for the $3 plan tell them you will add funds later. This process only takes 15 minutes in store.

After you do this then you can go back to sprint anytime. To go back to sprint you will need tmobile account number and pin number. your pin number will be the last 4 digit of your phone number at tmobile. Once you get your ultramobile service, create account at ultramobile to see your balance and in their site they will have a phone number to call ultra mobile. you call this number to get your account number from ultra mobile.

All this takes 30 minutes of your time.

I totally agree with you taking into consideration of the time cost. I'm just not convinced the $3 online option is totally gone. Thanks for taking pains to test it. I had the torture of T-mobile's calling support before for another issue, it was like in an infinite loop being transferred back and forth, and I finally gave up.
Sent a PM to T-mobile on Twitter and their reply was that the PAYG is now only provided by Ultra Mobile.
I took the Amazon Tracfone promotion instead as others suggested.
Thanks again.

Any idea what could happen on September 5? The following quote came from a verified 3rd party retail rep on Reddit [reddit.com].

The 5th also happens to be the date the prepaid mastercard deal ends. With all the recent talk about the free year popping up again and then disappearing, I wonder if that's when we could see it go officially live again.
As of 9/7/19 no changes to Kickstart but higher surcharge $0.40 to $0.99 coming for all lines and plans.
Regulatory Charge Increase
Effective with your Nov. bill, the Regulatory Charge will increase to $0.99 mo./line.
This will be in the Surcharges section of your bill. Cancel service(s) directly or indirectly affected w/in 30 days of the change w/o incurring an ETF (IB/Lease charges still apply).

Me and my gf been on the free plan for a year and it was great. It expires this month, any ideas what to do? I rarely use over 1gb data but she usually uses like 5-10gb. We both need unlimited talk / text

check out Tello, but I think they only do single lines. Hard to beat for low usage with unlimited talk/text and 1 GB for $10

Need some help, can you still add a line to this for free? If so, do you need to call them or can you do it online?
