Wouldn't you need to buy(no lease or installment deal) and activate a phone to get plan?

Most of us here still are on it.

We posted plenty of notice here for people here to roll over their plans for another year prior to the end of new enrollments on April 4 2019. So people here generally have an end date of April/May 2020 (or within x months of that for those who felt they were close enough to not bother rolling over).

You see a few posts from people whose plans are expiring just because those individuals failed to roll over prior to April 4 for whatever reason (mostly they were not following the thread).

There is no way to get on now.

Tello has some fair offers.

If you want really low cost you can choose a plan that combines 500 MB LTE data with zero minutes for $5 a month with no tax. Then pay for minutes via Paygo (instead of having them on a plan) at 1 cent a minute.

Having this minimal plan gives you unlimited 2G data after you've used your LTE data.

Any challenges adding a S9+ it's from Total Wireless but is an unlocked phone model G965U1

Need to find a cheaper phone service once I'm done with Sprint. Still having challenges with Sprint in my home and area. Will see what the s9+ does vs the Moto G6 play.

Well TracFone subsidiaries like Total Wireless are known for locking phones in various ways so I would be sure to check the IMEI in the Sprint checker. I am surprised Total would even sell a U1 (factory unlocked) model.

G965U1 is supported in general though.

However S9 is not supported for VoLTE on Sprint unlike S8, S10, ...... Nobody has been able to figure out why, but it is not.

I think in your case a model that is supported for VoLTE would be better, such as S8..

You sure would think that the S9 would be supported like the S8. Geez. How dumb is that.

I probably won't be with Sprint much longer and have to assume the other networks support VoLTE with the S9??
I've never been a fan of Sprint but at the price I couldn't go wrong. Wish I would have known about this before--I would have tried to pick up the S8.

It is interesting that Total Wireless is selling the unlocked version of the S9 and I guess they sold the unlocked version of the S8 also. We will see when it comes in. I have 30 days to try it out.

The other networks do support S9 VoLTE for the carrier-sponsored models. However, I do not believe they all do so for the factory-unlocked (U1) model.

They must be some design roadblock or something with S9 on Sprint. A zillion people have complained about it. It is (speculatively) *possible" that VoLTE support might be added with Sprint's formal VoLTE release which is still supposed to occur by year end and which might add more phones.
