Is it possible? Where can I find more information on this?
FYI Google Voice charges $20 to port in a number.

Boost phones are subsidized in exchange for a commitment for use on Boost only for a year (not on Sprint).

There are some exceptions for some iPhones and ways around it (social engineering etc) but first I would call Boost to see what they say re that particular phone.

Given what you mention, I suspect you may want to return it if you still can unless anyone has other suggestions.

You only have under a week after purchase to return a phone to Boost so you have to act instantly. See https://www.boostmobile.com/about...olicy.html for the number to call. They are very rigid on that deadline. You must ship it back as they describe if you bought it from them online.

If you bought it from Costco, maybe their conditions are different..
Sure. Thanks.

For those of you who have ported the phone to Sprint from Tracfone (T-Mobile compatible SIM)... What is the account number?
Customer service mentioned that there was none associated with the account (BYOP plan). Several places list a few options..
  • last 15 digits from the Tracfone SIM
  • Phone IMEI
Thank you in advance.

When I did it in September, I used the last 15 digits of the Tracfone AT&T SIM and the port was seamless.

According to various threads it can randomly be either of the above, and also the pin may or may not be set (so best set it manually).

So maybe the best plan is to first set the pin to a new value so that at least you know that, then try it with one potential account number, then have Sprint try the other potential account number if the first possibility does not work?

Just did search about porting out to h2o..didn't read through all the comments, so this is what I learned so far:

1. Buy sim from amazon (showing up as for $1).
2. Port out to h20 (will need account number & PIN from Sprint).

One thing that is not clear to me, do I need to add a plan (cheapest one is $10), or I can just port my number and not select a plan when I port?

Thanks.

No need to select a plan if you want your number to die.

I have three lines in Byod plan. I did my first line in December, Second line in January and third line in March. So technically all my three lines are good through December. I wanted to confirm the exact end date of my Byod account and contacted Sprint customer service on three different occasions. Each time they said my byod account is good to go till March 31. Is that true. Can anyone help me understand is this true. Or will I be charged after December.. Thank you.

It is very common to receive more than 12 months of free service because when Sprint was extending promotions they would extend expiration date by 2-3 months at a time .Giving over 15 months free in some cases.
Are you sure you signed up in December 2018? According to free plan archive the end date for free plan was extended sometime between January 8 and 16th of 2019. It was an end date of 1/31/2020 on January 8 2019 and an end date of 3/31/2020 on January 16 2019.
If you signed up in December 2018 I would of expected end date of 1/31/2020 since the 1/31/2020 expiration went into effect in mid november 2018.
Did you have any special intervention by Sprint in setting up December plan correctly in January 2019 which may have also used the extended 3/31/2020 date.
If it says 3/31/2020 in account and on bill you should be free to 3/31/2020 for all 3 lines.

It happened exactly as you mentioned. I had few issues with my first line when I set it up in December and Sprint was able to solve it around January. Untill you said I never realised that period might have fallen under the extended promotional time frame. Every time the chat reps would say that I have an extended promotional period and of course I didn't believe them.lol. thank you and desi_babu_2010 so so much.
