Thanks that's what I was assuming but--with Sprint you never know.

Hope someone comes up with a MM for porting or at least something to make it worthwhile Smilie.

There is a money maker but it only works with 5 lines, or maybe break even with 4 lines:

Another question--do we need to port out or can we just cancel the account if we don't want to keep the phone number. I will definitely port out 1 phone number but it's not the main account #--Probably easier to port out but would have to pay to port out vs cancelling the account.
You can cancel but they often.usually require a phone call to do that. Also they get points/bonuses/rewards for talking you out of cancelling, so a few will not actually enter the cancel, pretending/"assuming" that they talked you out of it.

So it is safer to port out. Free with an H2O sim as has been said so many times.

Ot if you do rely on a cancel, do it in lots of time and chat later to verify it was entered on your account.

....... if we can set up this "3rd free line" and then cancel the other lines, I am interested Wave. The answer is probably, "Who knows? Try it!" but I am wondering if comintel or others can weigh in... I've gotten almost 3 years out of this BYOD 1 Year Free deal... another year would be crazy LMAO
I see your ingenious argument, but I think there would be a high degree of risk that they would give it to you free for at most one month and then they would say it is no longer the third line.

They are fairly used to dealing with differing prices for third line, fourth line etc so this must have some up many many times and I think they likely have code to handle that.

Unfortunately I think your estimated odds are about right! (I called the original poster's argument ingenious, not likely to be successful). As I mentioned, Sprint is probably well used to dealing with this interpretation by now, and not favorably I am sure.

Thanks for re-phrasing it more frankly!

That 1/31/2021 end date does indeed apply to some Sprint offers, but not to Kickstart.

Kickstart is a regular plan and the price never goes up on regular plans.

Here are the full complete T&C from
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/clp-...6893842336 [bestbuy.com]

Maybe there is some way that you could check whether they will do a hard pull if you already have an approved account. I do not see why they would need to check again. You could try calling the Sprint Credit dept at 800-639-6111. Maybe they would know. Or maybe BestBuy could tell you in-store if you got the right rep.

There is a specific thread on the offer here on SlickDeals too
Thanks for the info. I got that 1/31/2021 date from this page [sprint.com]. If the Best Buy plan has no end date then it is definitely a better deal. Later this month I'm going to check it to see if existing user can open the line without a hard pull. Will report back.

Neither version of KickStart is subject to price increase once you have it.

Those comparison charts have definitely given rise to a whole lot of confusion, but it has been clarified numerous times that all of the text following the words "Sprint Unlimited Basic:", including the reference to 1/31/2021, applies only to Unlimited Basic, and not to KickStart.

Versions of that comparison chart have appeared for a long time with earlier dates and we have had this confusion (and endless debates) with all of them, and the same clarification: No KickStart offer price has ever had an end date once you are signed up. The price has gone up a couple of times for new subscribers, but that has had no effect for existing subscribers, including those who subscribed a couple of years ago at $15 a month and still have that rate.

It is clear that you will NOT be charged provided you get out by the plan termination date (and likely even a little later - see other posts especially those by edog11).

My plan expires on 3/31, that's why I'm looking where to port out. And I was wondering if I will be charged $60 for April 1-27, because my current billing ends on 3/28.

You can check Verizon BYOD compatibility here:

https://www.verizonwireless.com/onedp/byod#/

Note that as of 1/1/2020 Verizon will activate in its system only phones that are VoLTE capable.
The same goes for all Verizon system MVNOs.

The Motorola E6 is just one cheap device that's VoLTE capable.

The way they have been charging, it would be free to April 27 or 28 in your case.

Personally, though, I would try to get confirmation of that for your account from Sprint, or, failing that, just to be extra safe, port out by 3/31 in your case. This would be mainly in case they might review your account manually for some reason and apply the 3/31 date strictly.
