yes that is what i do. so i was saying, that pre loaded simple mobile sim can be used for your changing set of private numbers. that was what i meant to "power" your GV number so you'll have data when you are out of wifi range.
Oh I see - neat idea!

If you already have an account on Sprint you should be able to do "new line" offers, including Sprint's kickstart offer if bought through Sprint, right in that account without a new credit check.

I think most of the current offers are all "new line" offers that do not need a new account.

If you do not have a Sprint account and you want an offer that includes a flex-lease, you have to do a credit check.

If you just want Kickstart, that can be done at $35 as a no-credit-check offer, but if you want the $25 a month price at BestBuy, then there are posts saying BestBuy insists on a Sprint credit check.
The only open account that I have is the BYOD that expires 4/30/2020. I have 2 lines on there. The previous account was the same and I ported out of there and then back into the current account under a different SS. So now to figure out the best MM for this deal and easiest way to do it. I'm more after the MM or FREE service then continuing service with Sprint. I haven't been impressed with their service in my area but would hang in there for the right deal.

In my opinion you would be able to get the $300 gift card offer by adding Kickstart in your existing account with a new line and port-in. That line would continue as long as you wanted (at least as long as required by the promo) after you terminated the free plan lines.

However there are a few moving parts there, so please verify independently if interested as I cannot be responsible.

If anyone else disagrees or has doubts, please post.

Comintel, I was planning to do one Tello line to Sprint KS for $300 promo but when I read your Reddit post, little afraid to make the move. Is it safe to cancel after 90 days without any hidden charges from Sprint?. TIA.

I don't think porting from tello will work for the promo needs go be from a non sprint network.

I was about to sign up for the promo last night but found that one of my phones is still tied to tello when I decided not to pay to extend my account in January. So after 2 plus months the number is still active in zombie state and attached to my phone and technically still on the sprint network. Had to call tello last night to cancel my account and expire the number to free up my phone. Still waiting for that cancellation to be processed.

As noted by svsfan, you definitely cannot port in directly from a Sprint mvno like Tello. But you can port it to a non-Sprint related mvno first and then port in from there.

Or get a number for port-in on EBay and get the phone COMPLETELY freed up by contacting Tello Customer Service (not just cancelled as they keep it half-alive in that case in case you change your mind).

I am not sure which of my (numerous!) reddit posts you are referring to but definitely you can cancel at any time once you have satisfied the conditions of the promo - obviously I would recheck at that time what others are experiencing then for feedback and maybe give it a little extra time depending on those reports. No, there would not be any hidden charges other than the usual monthly taxes and fees.

Among which, I guess these parts (mainly the second, "coming soon") will likely be most relevant for people here:

So free plan users will (soon) get hotspot for a period covering through the scheduled end of their free plan. And Kickstart users will (soon) have it for a couple of months too.
Thanks for that information. Please excuse these two more questions if they have somehow been answered before.
1. If I switch to Tello do I have to notify Sprint of my cancellation or is just porting out enough?
2,Can BYOD customers switch to the Kickstart plan and keep their current number? I only have one line.
Thanks for your patience.

1, Porting out is enough - I would give it a couple of days extra going to a Sprint mvno like Tello. It can be fast or slow. If you port out to Tello you will not be able to readily port back in to Sprint from there.

2. Not directly. If you port out or cancel you would be eligible for the Recovery offer to come back, but the Recovery offer will be at the $35 rate, not at the $25 rate from Best Buy, and Recovery will not give you the $300 gift card offer. So it is probably better to port out without accepting the Recovery offer if you want to come back under a different offer.

Once you port out to a non-Sprint mvno, you would be formally eligible for those offers if they are still going. BUT, especially for the $300 offer, in my opinion they could come back later and deny it as too blatant since they will have had 3 months to look it over and there will be new management in place.by then.

I forgot to mention here that my dad received the $200 prepaid card a few weeks ago from the add a line offer. I wasn't expecting it at all, even the online status said invalid when I checked recently.
As I had originally mentioned a few months back when I added myself to his free byod account, the operator that added me, insisted that it was eligible to receive it and I should apply. Thought it was too good to be true until some others here mentioned they also had received it.

Not sure if already mentioned but sprint offering unlimited data and free 20gb hotspot for 69 days. Does it mean for us who has no hotspot we will get hotspot for 60 days?

Thank you boss!!!
How does one activate this? Does it automatically turns on or do you have to call for it to activate? The big question is I hope they don't change any pricing terms after the free 60 day hotspot is over.

You do not need to call in.

The existing feature is just automatically enabled on phones that already support a hotspot.

It should be in Settings to turn it on when you want to use it.

Note: The option with the Mobile Hotspot varies by device manufacturer.

Apple: Settings > Personal Hotspot
Samsung: Settings > Connections > Mobile Hotspot and Tethering > Mobile Hotspot
LG: Settings > Network & internet > Tethering > Wi-Fi Hotspot
Google: Settings > Network & internet > Hotspot & Tethering > Wi-Fi Hotspot
HTC: Settings > More > Hotspot & Tethering > Portable Wi-Fi hotspot
One Plus: Settings > Wi-Fi and Internet > Hotspot & Tethering > Wi-Fi Hotspot
No there is no change in pricing related to this (and your free plan end date will be before 60 days anyway).

I tried earlier , turning it on with (aplle personal hotspot) says to call customer service. I have the unlimited kickstart with no personal hotspot.

Posts on reddit say it is rolling out slowly.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Sprint/c...t_for_all/

I would wait a day or two.
