Yes and that's why we were cautious earlier about an isolated report of one year. That caution turned out to be justified.

Individual reps get things wrong not infrequently.
The original retention rep got it wrong today too, until I got to tele sales. It's weird though because he mentioned the 2-month thing then looked deeper and seen the offer for the additional year he SAID. However in the end through other reps I was transferred to and such, this turned out not to be the case. So like you say, either way I would be cautious.

I am happy to report that Sprint extended my BYOD Free Plan to 06/30/2020. Just asked the CS about my options to stay with Sprint and she extended it.

Screenshot attached.
Everyone here who benefits from this info, give thanks.... and some reps... to the person above who shared and started the ball rolling!

Well it sounds to me like there really was a one year extension offer on there as an individual retention offer for your particular account.

In their system, Retentions makes the individual retention offers and notes them on the account but they may have to transfer you to telesales to actually execute them, depending on the offer.

Of course it is easiest for telesales just to blow them off if they are busy or just do not want to bother.

In your particular case, you may well still be able to get the one year. You would have to call back Retentions and ask them to make a report that Telesales failed to do it properly and wait for resolution. I would suggest doing that. Or you could call TeleSales and try to get them to read the notes on the account more carefully.

I do not see any downside in at least trying.

in addition to the above, i would log out.
login try another chat.
If still now allowed, ask for supervisor.

there is no reason why they are not allowing you the same 2 months that many others have now received.

i certainly would not, in any circumstances, cancel the line today or anytime in near future.
once gone, there is good chance it will not be back.
Thank you @desi and @comintel.

Extended for two months till 5/31.

Thanks to the multiple people who posted starting last week and allowed us to recommend to many posters starting then that people call in to get an extension, well before some people here noticed and starting posting their own summaries. But the more reports and summaries the better - it is all to the good.

I'm curious about this... Are you thinking we can call/chat every 2-3 months and keep extending? I saw no need to keep the free BYOD when I'm also doing the $300 gc deal.

sorry no. im not suggesting that.

im saying that because of this virus, S is offering 2-3 months extension...and popel should take advantage of the extension , if they can...

not suggesting this will continue much longer.

but now a days, every penny helps...especially since over the last 2 weeks...
lots of money/assets/wealth/jobs have been lost

with the merger looming its all up in the air what the mobile scene will be like in 2-6 months

thanks, repped.

Then I'll still close my free BYOD account, no point in paying even a small amount for an account thats not being used.

The "bone" will be $35 KS. If you plan on staying with T/rint "forever and ever," the $25 BB/KS deal is still the way to go. And it's ending SOON. A two month extension on 1YF is "worth" only ~$50 vs. how much you can potentially save locking in the $25 KS rate.
