got it. u r rightt...
i see teh bb at 1069 w $50.

i leave up to u to decide from the answers u have.
personally, if im spending 1100, then id just get from apple, and not risk locking/unlocking, messing up byod plan etc.

IIRC, the byod plan has lots of restrictions.
anyways, good luck...in your decision, as i dont think i helped u at all...lol...sorry..
Ohh thank you so much!! You do help, and you did help me in the past many many times too, and you have helped millions of people here too... you're amazing!!! Thank you, thank you and thank you!!!

I know you're not an ios person, but just wondering, what's the advantage to buy it from the apple store instead of BB since you mentioned you'd just buy it from apple? I did post a question recently regarding this. Please see below quotes from the apple website. It seems like I can buy the Sprint (TBM or VRZ) iphone, and they should all be unlocked...?? BTW I have BB credit card that has 5% reward and a local BB store. I don't have a local apple store and no apple credit card (I can apply if needed). I'm also thinking in the scenario if I need to exchange etc.. it'd be good to have a local store.

On apple website, there are 5 choices for carrier (Sprint, ATT, T mobile, Verizon; Sim free - activate with any carrier later). And it says:

"Nearly all iPhone models sold on apple.com and at the Apple Store are unlocked. This means they aren't tied to a single carrier. The exception is when you buy an iPhone with an AT&T Installment Plan. It will be tied — or locked — to AT&T.

Your iPhone will be unlocked when you:
Choose any carrier and select One-time payment.
Choose any carrier and select Apple iPhone Payments.
Choose any carrier and either join or upgrade with the Apple iPhone Upgrade Program.
Purchase a SIM-free model. This is like any other iPhone, just without a carrier nano-SIM card.
Your iPhone will be locked when you choose AT&T as your carrier and pay with an AT&T Installment Plan."

Ohh thank you so much!! ...
i feel less risk of lock when buying from apple .
but if you can justify buying from BB and not risk the locking (& gain the lower cost), then I think u should go that route. especially since there isnt any apple store close by.

do your homework (like you have been doing) to make a informed decisions,

unfortunately i cannot add more than this since i do not have much experience in the matter.

GL..

It appears Sprint is extending the free one year BYOD plan by tow more months. In my case, I had to call in for them to activate the offer. You may check under your account dashboard, change plan to see if its extended or not. If not , can call them to extend.
For me, I didn't call in or extended the service through online but I didn't get charged on my 13th month bill. Not sure if I still need to call in and request since I don't see the option on my Account Dashboard.

Just found out my free plan was extended to 6/30 from 4/30. I was going to port my number to ATT $15 prepaid plan. Guess I can wait two more months.

Dear Experts,

I would like to buy a new iPhone 11 pro max from Best Buy. (In my previous post I was considering to buy from apple store).

The phone original price is $1099. Best Buy offers $30 off if I choose "Sprint" as carrier and "Upgrade the phone". In addition, it comes with $50 GC and 4 months free apple music.

My questions:

1. Can I "upgrade" while buying the phone on best buy online? I think I would need to give my Sprint account info for the free plan etc. Would that be ok? I don't want to risk losing my free plan.

2. Would the new phone be locked to Sprint once the free plan expires at end of June?

Thank you so much for your help! Will rep.
have you made any decisions yet? dunno if you have already asked or tried but if you have the free 1 year byod sprint plan, Best Buy does not recognize that plan. they can not touch your account. so you won't be able to upgrade thru that account.

Could you please offer some advice on iPhone model, sim, carrier...? Thank you so much in advance!

1. I have 2 free lines until end of June.(1 on iphone 6, 1 on iphone 6s).

2. I want to replace one of the phones with a new "iPhone 11 pro max". And I want to be able to use it for the Sprint free plan until at least end of June, but after that, I would need to find some other plans - Sprint or not. So I want to make sure that I'm buying a phone that would allow me to do that.

3. Question: Is there currently any good deal on a new iPhone 11 pro max? If not, should I buy it from Best Buy or Apple online? The price is $1099 before tax.

5. Question: Should I buy it from apple store online? And, which carrier should I choose? If I choose Sprint, should I let apple to activate my sprint free plan during the process of ordering the phone? Or should I choose "Sim-free", but the phone would come without a sim card in it. Then would I need to get a new SIM card? Or can I just use the old SIM card?

6. Question: Or should I buy it from Best Buy online? Or any alternatives?

7 Question: Is there any cash back I could get for buying a $1099 phone?
if you are set on Iphone 11PM, i would leave Sprint and go with Visible (they use Verizon). i would buy 2 phones, each with a $200 GC after 2 bills paid, $25/mo per line unlimited everything, after you join party pay, 8% RaKu cash back. make sure though Verizon network is good in your area. verify but i think their Iphones are sold unlocked.

Thanks a lot for letting me know about this option!! I was searching on their website but can't find any info about whether their phones are locked or unlocked... you might know where to get this info.

Another consideration is that once I port the number to visible, would I be able to port back into the Sprint free plan after visible? The Sprint free plan expires at end of June... not sure what would happen then, but just in case if it gets extended and I need to port the number back in. I do have another line in the sprint free plan account as well - would that help me to get back in if needed?

The visible is $25 for Month 1, then $40 per month after that. So the deal is to pay 2 months (cost $25+$40 =$65) to get $200 GC, correct?

Oh another question: I'm curious... why would you get 2 phones?

Again, thank you so much!!!
