Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

You are absolutely right. Chat representative gave wrong information. Retention representative confirmed that BYOD free plan pricing will end 06/30/2020. I am going miss this plan like most of us. Thank you so much for information that you and this thread have been giving for long time. What is best unlimited plan for 2 lines? Right now, I am considering Hello Mobile and Altice Mobile.
Best generally-available true unlimited plan for two lines in my personal opinion would be Sprint Kickstart for $25 per line via BestBuy or Visible Party Pay for $25 -$35 per line subject to heavy deprioritization in *some* areas (the rate would be $25 if you can get 4 people in an open group via reddit).

Hello Mobile is not really unlimited and is probably the worst mvno in the U.S. according to reviews and posts on reddit. Altice is fine if you quaify for thir lower rates.

Oh you're right - so they do allow combining them. That's good. You will have 30 days to mail in the old trade-in phones.

I looked at the terms and conditions info popup and it says a "new account and line" are required. It does not say a port-in is required. (The advertising mentions "when you switch" but wording like that has not been interpreted to require a port-in in the past).

So please verify with Sprint but you COULD start out by getting brand new lines and numbers on a brand new account and SSN.

The very safest thing to do would be to then port your old numbers out to Google Voice for $20 each and leave then there, pointing back to the new numbers so you still got calls to your old numbers. That is what I would do..

Ot port out and back BUT they COULD reject that as "not a new line" although they have not being doing that so far. People are still doing it but perhaps there could be a possibility they might start auditing for that at some point.. Let's see what others say. Also I am sure there will be other slickdeals threads on this.
Thank you. I wish there were other threads. I'm dying to hear someone write out the details on how to do it with confirmation it works just like this thread.
I'm not sure though that I 100% follow what you mean regarding google voice. Are you suggesting to do GV and once my new lines at sprint are setup to then bring our old numbers over to sprint and cancel the new ones?
What are your thoughts of porting our to T-Mobile prepay like most of us did last time?

You and all others here with 3-5 lines should check this post for the possibility of getting FREE unlimited Verizon service for 7-9 months:

https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=137576762&postcount=43528

After 7 months, that's about at least until Christmas or so, one can decide what to do next depending on the deals at the time.
Certainly, around Black Friday to Christmas there are many promotions offered.
This Verizon deal is best for 5 lines or more but do the calculations for 3 or 4 lines.
It may still be an excellent deal if it costs, for instance, $10/month.
You MUST have Verizon eligible phones that will pass the Verizon IMEI check.

You can do the deal online only for the first 5 lines but if you have more than 5 lines, you must go thru BFRGL online for the rest so that you can get the $115/line for the additional lines and then have Verizon customer service combine the additional lines to the first 5 line account so that you can get the $30/mo/line rate. Of course, if you have 10 lines do it twice and leave it as 2 different accounts, and do not involve Verizon CS.
Good luck to all!
slickdeals marked that deal as expired? can you confirm that it's not expired? don't wanna read through hundreds of pages for nothing...

Check out Hello Mobile. 5 lines unlimited at $17 per line. I ported out one line of mine from Sprint to them before I got notice of the Sprint extension. The transition and service have been just fine. Didn't even need a new SIM because they are Sprint/T-Mobile based. One caveat. They say "unlimited" which is true, but it's not unlimited high-speed data. It's hidden in the terms of service that they may slow down your data after 15GB. This was fine for me because my family has never gotten near that. 9GB at the most, so this limitation doesn't affect us.
how long did it take you to switch to hello mobile? is it doable in a day? i'm looking into the verizon deal, but if that doesn't work out i might go with hello mobile. i'm just worried that if i take too long, and hello mobile takes days to migrate into, then i'll run out of time. my next cycle begins in two weeks

You should be ok right away with a different SSN.

People are having trouble getting the offer through BestBuy if they have or had a recent account with Sprint.

But the phone number alone will not be an obstacle in this case. Just the SSN.
Thanks! Just to clarify...when you say right away...I still need to port my 2 lines out of the free plan to a non-sprint plan first before signing up the BB kickstart using a different SSN, right?

As I said in my other post, the deal expired on 5/31/2020 but Verizon has been auto-renewing this offer monthly since October 2019, and chances are it'll renew past 7/1/2020.
The CURRENT DEAL expires on 7/1/2020, please READ ALL INFORMATION, especially the little circled i's, here:

https://www.verizon.com/bring-your-own-device/?AID=11365093&SID=e9f22402a5d911ea9fa72a70558bfcd60INT... [verizon.com]

And you can see the rates/lines here:

https://www.verizon.com/plans/unl...450a240612

For more info read my posts in the past week or so.

Verizon has been losing customers and now it's on the competitive war path with the other wireless providers.
This increased competition is good for all customers shopping around and it'll probably increase further as T-Mobile absorbs Sprint and it retires the Sprint name, and as the end-of-year holidays approach.

It's probably not a good move to lock oneself to a single provider right now with long term phone leases, etc.

Yes I meant right away after porting out.

Yes BB's system is insisting on being able to create a new Sprint account in this case which means a new SSN.

(Sprint itself actually does not require a new customer account for Kickstart if you go directly to Sprint but that would require paying $35 a month).

I was not suggesting porting back from GV, rather "pointing back" from GV. But you could do either. Pointing back is actually safest and most flexible but might require study.

TMobile prepaid (including Ultramobile paygo), and aldo Mint etc are still being accepted so far but some are expecting that will change. I expect there will be reports when and if they stop.

The easiest thing to do if you had your #s a long time, and you care about keeping them for a long time, is to pay the $20, port them to Google Voice, and forward your calls to whatever new phone #s you get by shopping around for the best deals.
It's a pain to be porting #'s out and in all the time, and in the past year or so it has become expensive as the wireless providers got wise to the port out/in game.

Get your new phone #s first, and then port out your old-to-keep phone #s to Google Voice, so that you'll have the new phone #s to forward the old phone #s to.

Google Voice is especially useful overseas because you can get your messages and voice mails and the #s that call you to the Gmail account linked with Google Voice.

Of course, NOTHING is guaranteed in life, as Google may decide to charge a monthly fee, say 5 years from now, or most likely will leave the Google Voice system free forever.

I was thinking about porting my old number to GV, and then forwarding my calls to the new #.
Does that mean I have to use Google Voice apps?
If I use the generic dialer to make calls, do my friends see my GV # or the new phone # ?

You always use the phone's built in dialer to make calls.
When you install the GV app in your phone you are given the choice to use your carrier, in which case the person you call will see your carrier phone # in his caller ID, OR to use GV, in which case the person you call will see your GV phone # in his caller ID, OR YOU CAN CHOOSE BEFORE the call which of the above to use, Carrier, OR GV, OR cancel the outgoing call.
You will receive calls normally from both the carrier or GV.
It is having 2 phone #s in one device.

Keep in mind that GV is VOIP so it is using LTE data only, so if you are in an area with no LTE or with a very weak LTE signal GV will not work properly.
BUT, also keep in mind that today providers are switching over to VoLTE - VOICE OVER LTE - so chances are that your carrier's call will go out over the LTE data signal.
Verizon, for instance, no longer accepts phones that are NOT VoLTE capable, and will only be using VoLTE as of 1/1/2021. All current subscribers using the older non-VoLTE devices will be forced to upgrade devices then.
The VISIBLE prepaid phone service, a VERIZON subsidiary service, is ONLY using VoLTE right now.

So, in the near future chances are that if there is no LTE signal or a very weak signal neither GV nor the carrier will work.

I can only tell you I started the port late on a Friday and it was complete by the following Tuesday. This could mean that their porting department had already closed on a Friday so, technically, the request likely went in on the following Monday and was completed Tuesday.

I'm trying to port from Mint to Hello. On the hello website, it said that the current SIM from Mint would work so I started the process yesterday. I do not have service as of now. Did you need to wait to receive new SIM card from Hello or did your previous SIM work for you ?

Has anyone ported to Xfinity in the recent past? My port request has been pending for three days with no luck yet.
