Legitimate concerns. You could talk to a Hello Mobile agent about it or for $25 or less, just try it for yourself and see if it suits your needs. I CAN say that I was on Ring+, Ting, and Tello (all Sprint MVNOs), before getting on the Sprint deal and I saw no difference in coverage and service. Of course, your mileage may vary.
Whose who signed up for the Hello Mobile, how is your free 60 countries international calling working?

I have switched my five free Sprint lines to Hello Mobile without issue. Since the phones all had Sprint sim cards, there was no need to get sim cards from Hello Mobile. I switched via the customer service line, as I prefer to talk to a person for such matters instead of just switching vis their website. It's been almost two months and I get the same coverage I had with Sprint with no issues.
How long did it take to port the numbers? I have until 4th for my new billing cycle to start and contemplating whether to port to Telo or Hello. On chat and call with Hello was informed the system decides if I need a new sim and will be out of service as the porting will be initiated immediately disabling my service with Sprint - which threw me off as I don't want to be out of service until I get my new sims.

If you share your experience it will really help.

Thanks in advance!

You should never need a new sim when changing Sprint mvno's.

Be careful - Hello is probably the worst mvno in the US, except for price in some ranges of data usage..

I initiated a single line migration and on checking my unlocked Sprint IMEI Iphone 6s Plus the system indicated I need a new SIM - HM is shipping a new sim which will take 5-7 days to arrive.

Will check tomorrow if not will try to move to Tello or Do I have an option to ask HM to hold my number transfer and have this number ported to GV and have them later migrate it to HM. My new billing cycle starts on Tuesday and not sure I will have the new sim by then - any suggestions?

Well if you read the thread I linked to
https://slickdeals.net/?adobeRef=bbe24d60d2db11ea8920bafcfc5720790000&sdtid=10235008&sdpid=139220204&lno=1&trd=https%20www%20reddit%20com%20r%20NoContra%20&pv=&au=&u2=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.reddit.com%2Fr%2FNoContract%2Fcomments%2Fhz6zvz%2Fhello_mobile_sucks_really_bad%2F
it discusses that in detail.

You do not need a new sim to switch to a Sprint mvno, so most likely they are switching you to TMobile.
"The system" is just something to hide behind as they choose whichever will give them the most profit.
They do not give you the choice - they choose.

Often they do the port immediately, cutting off your service while you wait for the sim to arrive. People have been without service for lengthy periods waiting for the sim..

If they have not yet ported your number out, if you want you could change your pin so the port fails and not give them the correct pin until the sim arrives. Just stall and play dumb if they ask for the correct pin until their sim card arrives.Thst would keep your old service going until then. I think that would work but cannot guarantee what Hello would do as they mess things up a lot

If they have already ported out your number, they have it so there is probably nothing you can do.until their sim arrives.

Thanks for responding!
In my case HM system showed for an hour they could activate my service based on existing sprint sim. After chatting with a rep that message stopping showing up on my account.

HM did not initiate the porting of number and on chat they indicated I will have to wait until I receive my sim to initiate porting of number.

HM website did indicate they are shipping me a GSM sim even after me indicating I have Sprint version of Apple Iphone 6s Plus unlocked by Sprint.

As suggested I have changed pin on my account and on a call with HM to terminate my order.

I was able to get on a call with a HM rep (much faster than I thought- it just took a min) - their system was slow so had to be on the line for a while, but they worked on cancelling my order. It was painless at least on this ask -

I am glad to hear that you were able to prevent this going off the rails by taking control of things!

As indicated earlier the cancellation with HM was painless, post receipt of confirmation email indicating they have voided my charges. Got online with Telo and initiated transfer requests for 4 lines, initially the web page indicated it would take approx 5 business days to get the porting completed.

By the time I could get to my third line, I have already received email from Telo indicating the porting was complete (It did yet reflect on the account, there was a lag of few minutes). In few minutes post receipt of confirmation email my outgoing through Sprint was going to their paid services dept. I'm not savvy with Iphone (Android Guy) got to play with network resetting and in an hour the phones were active and working on Telo.

Thanks Comintel the guidance you had shared it was very helpful.

Thanks to everyone over the 15 month journey for sharing info and guidance !!

Came by to report similar experience. My cycle end date was late July, I picked up a few 3 month MintSIM cards at BestBuy for $25 and moved my lines over 10 days before the cycle ended. Just checked the last bill, balance is 0. Thanks to all who contributed to this thread / deal, saved my family quite a bit of money over the last couple of years.

So i ported out of sprint after this promo ended and switched to Xfinity mobile. Would i qualify for the sprint $300 gc promo if i port back in? A while back,i heard that if the number was in the sprint system already, then it won't qualify for the promo. How long do i have to wait in order to qualify?
