I agree that this, and almost all phones on the market are over priced, but what makes you think the Pixel is going to be a deal? I'd buy one of those over this, but they're over priced as well.

Anyone know whether a bestbuy unlocked is fully compatible with T-mobile, and by that I mean works with features like T-mobile VOLTE and wifi-calling? Not sure if the phone needs to be T-mobile branded to use these things.

don't have direct experience with s8, but s7 was fullt compatible with tmobile volte amd wifi calling, so I'd venture a probably yes

I had Samsung galaxy S7 unlocked and it had wifi calling on T-Mobile.
